I think last night was not enough insulin. I had the air bubble issue again with the pen and think he got one of those

Does anyone else experience this? I suspect only large dosers will notice.. but I firmly eject the air out the syringe and hold the plunger and insert into the pen. I slowly withdraw insulin from the pen. Might even be a new pen. And I still get bubbles ( or mini vacuum spaces?). Sometimes if I wait they fill up (I suspect small dosers under 3 units probably wont even see this happening but its really obvious on 6) but sometimes they sit there and I have to eject them. It cant be air unless the syringe is leaking somehow...

DH was managing today - said Bailey was bugging him for treats all day. Sounds like a good Bailey day!!

I had this happen on occasion. I think I Googled the issue at one point and one recommendation was that if you had a needle tip for the pens, you just keep pushing the button on the pen until you got the air out. I would use a syringe to pull out the air.

Air bubbles in the pen or in the syringes?
I sometimes get bubbles (more like that vacuum space you described) in syringes if I'm nearing the very last few doses of a pen.
I went through a defective batch of syringes a while ago ~ there was indeed a leak and insulin went past the plunger into the 'body' of the syringes. Boy, did that use up a lot of insulin.
Good luck with figuring out what's causing the air!

Our last Lantus cartridge had a bubble in it. I'd hold the cartridge rubber side down and give a light tap to move the bubble to the top before inserting the syringe. And even though we are no long big gulpers, I still get bubbles all the time in the BD's. Some batches are so much worse than others.
