So Boris is running higher now - in the 230's to 300. We are staying @ 0.5u bid of Lantus. Like I said the SS is not updated.

I have put him back on Prednisolone everday, letting him eat whatever he wants (fish FF, tuna fish, roast beef slices), giving him subq fluids, and changed him from pepcid to ranitidine for some nausea (we had done that on vet's recommendation when he was so sick with cholangiohepatitis last year). He gets his Vit B12 injection again today.

He's just not "right". Laying around lethargic and only purrs weakly. Is alert looking tho. Isn't very active and doesn't greet me in the AM like he usually does - sitting and holding his paw up for me to pet him. I'm so worried, scared, and can't figure it out. I'm at a loss. Tomorrow we will go back again to the vet.

If you could just send a few good thoughts for him we'd be ever so grateful - thanks so much. And if you could still hold Fiona in your thoughts - altho she's not acting sick at all!

Sending all sorts of good thoughts to Boris, and Fiona (and you) too!

Once this dose stabilizes, if Boris' numbers are still high, you may want to increase his dose. Can you also get a ketone test just to rule that out?

(((Patti))) I am keeping you, Boris, and Fiona in my thoughts. I hope that the Pred upgrade kicks in and has him feeling better soon.

Sending you many prayers and healing vines for Boris.....we hope he is better soon.

Have you also tried ondanestron (zofran)? It is also good for nausea. Many hugs and feel better soon wishes.

I would try ondansetron also if you think nausea is an issue. My Dad was diagnosed with liver disease and was able to verbalize how it made him feel. Our cats can't. This was after Maverick had FHL also. So it was like, wow. My dad didn't eat solid food for six weeks. They finally put him on an antinausea medication and he was able to eat that night. He said on top of the nausea, food was 1000xs too strong for his taste buds. Not sure if this happens in cats also.

I am keeping Boris and Fiona in my thoughts and wishing they both get better. Sending you lots of hugs.

Keeping Boris (and you and Fiona) in my thoughts. I hope he gets to feeling better really soon.

Patti, We sure do hope that Boris will improve and that the vet will have some answers for you tomorrow. Sending some super-healing vines to Boris and to Fiona, too. Feel better, kitties!

Hugs to you all, :YMHUG: :YMHUG: :YMHUG: :YMHUG: Many hugs!
