Last night was Tink's second time under 50 on this dose - though otherwise this dose has done great things. First green surfs, or even blue surfs really, that we've seen in ages.
I feel strongly that last night's low was almost solely due to him vomiting his entire meal sometime before +1 last night. We shot low to begin with, and then he dumped all the food he had on board.
I am NOT wanting to risk his well-being, but given that we basically already established that Tink is considered a long term diabetic and that waiting for 3 times under 50 would be acceptable... I think I'm going to stick with this dose unless "time #3" happens. We'll still count this as #2, even though I really believe it was due solely to the vomiting. Also, just mc was enough to bring him up last night - I only fed hc because I was out of mc (only got one can cuz I wasn't sure if he'd like it). Once he had a full meal in his belly, and a little kick from the high carb, he came right up. Will restock mc/hc today.
Anyway, this morning's PS was higher, but quite acceptable to me. BUT now it looks like we're working on that bounce we all expected.
I'm certainly not ruling out a reduction. Perhaps now that we've surfed some blue/green without TOO much bouncing, maybe 3u will be enough soon. But as of this morning, I had not seen the most recent replies to yesterdays condo (in which one person suggested a reduction) and based on last night's conversation that I HAD seen, I just held the dose.
I have to leave for work (supposed to be there now - but such is life with a diabetic cat) so will update this afternoon. Thanks all!
