Hit blue at +5 last night. Too early to tell but so far I'm liking the fat 1.0 unit. Negative ketones but 1,000 mg/dL glucose in urine according to the Diastix. Not regulated yet so I'm not surprised. It was already going to be an early morning and late day at work but Lobster, one of Sarge's housemates, got sick last night so morning was a whole lot earlier. Lobster is patched up and bathed and I'm off to work on about three hours sleep. Here we go :) Happy day to all.

Re: 9/25 Sarge AMPS 358

i realized i don't know your name, or what you want to be called at least.

In one of your earlier posts you said that you usually just work down the street. I'm wondering if there's any chance of running home during the day to check on Sarge.

The reason i'm asking is because of that little 39 in there a week ago. It seems out of context, and yet there was a second green test shortly afterwards, so i think it's probably legitimate. It's possible he's just touching down and zooming back up quickly. If you can't get home during your lunch to check him, maybe getting some extra tests in during your days off.

Are you hoping to work towards remission?

You know, if I had know this was such a friendly close knit group I would have registered under my name! I am Alison. Mommy to Sarge, Lobster and Diesel. Sarge of course is the extra sweet one. Lobster is a rescue Manx and has constipation issues. After much research and tons of experimenting he is off the prescription meds and down to one or two episodes a year. A far cry from the issue every two weeks where we started. I guess you could say thanks to Lobster, Sarge's diabetes was not my first rodeo with a special needs kitty..and somehow after you learn to give your cat an enema by yourself and have had little poops drawn on your calendar to track what's in the litter box, handling a syringe isn't so bad :) Diesel is a force of nature. We found him as a barely eyes open kitten at the shop. After he fended off a raccoon that tried to break in he became a house cat. Diesel and Lobster have turned out to be great playmates. Every once in a blue moon Sarge gets into the act too.

I do work about 3 miles from home so getting home to test Sarge is sometimes possible. Not this week, it was insane! I think next week will be better. I am going for remission Julie. I think if I can just get Sarge regulated he will do the rest. I was happy to see blue again Shelly. Sarge does seem to be a bouncer. I am hoping to bring him down to normal slowly but he just might bounce all the way to remission like Jersey! I'm good with that :)
