Looks like Ms P is feeling a bit sluggish today (and I did test a little earlier than usual...)...c'mon, little lady, let's show off those "natural skill" you've got! Appy is quite happy, though. And the last three pillings have gone off without incident. In fact, both pillings yesterday were "holes in one"!! This morning, she was somewhat prepped for battle, feeling very ready to bat my hand down, but fortunately I was faster than her and got the pill down smoothly on the third attempt. Yet another "phew".

Chemo day also went very smoothly for my Dad yesterday. The process ran without any major delays between events (bloodwork, doctor visit, infusion), so I actually got home a full hour and a half earlier than usual! One of the drugs can cause a couple negative reactions (anaphylactic and an extreme sensitivity to cold) at any point during treatment (meaning, during any round, AND at any point in time during the infusion itself. even if it didn't cause a reaction in the past...it's crazy)....fortunately, neither of those reactions have surfaced. Additionally, it seems that removing the dairy from his diet has caused huge improvements...not only does he not have the belly ache any more, but his appetite has improved significantly, and he doesn't feel full after just a few bites of food, plus it's suddenly easier for him to down all the water he needs in order to flush out his system. It's amazing, and makes me wonder how many other chemo patients might have at least enough of a lactose intolerance to not cause major belly ache symptoms, but enough to cause the other symptoms my Dad was experiencing, but they don't realize it's the lactose causing the problem. While my Dad was in the infusion chair, my Mom and I did some shopping and had lunch, which made both of them happy: my Dad hates shopping but worries about my Mom going out alone, so she has been dying to "shop in peace" for a while; and it bothers my Dad that I'm spending my days off just sitting around with them, so he felt better that I was doing something productive.

Gotta get myself moving...have a great day, LL!

Come on down Trixie! You can do it. She is really looking great. I'm glad the pilling is going better, even if it took a few times today.

Great news on your dad! Things must have been clicking yesterday to get out of there that early. That is really interesting with the dairy. I would have never thought of that. I'm glad you got your mom out a little and did some shopping. That was good for everyone. ((((HUGS))))

Morning Amy ~O) ~O) ~O)

Go Trixie! greens re next. and I love your happy appy.

Good news n your dad. I', glad round three went so well. Kudos to you and your mom to go shopping while he undergoes infusion. I can see how that would make him happy. I am glad too to read that the removal of dairy has made such significant improvement for him. That is very nice. Vines and positive thoughts for your dad.

Have a great day today. I hope all goes well.

Having such a thorough and efficient daughter is sure paying off for your DF! Sounds like you've helped him a lot. Great idea to take your DM shopping and give you all a break. Win-win-win! :-D

Your early test theory definitely seems to be holding true. C'mon, Trixie. Tell Ms. P she needs to start waking up a little earlier! ;-)

Sending prayers that this week will go well for your DF - sounds like you've laid the groundwork for his feeling better!

I'm glad things went well with your dad's last chemo round. I hope he continues to do well. Keeping him in my prayers.

Yay that the last 3 pillings went well.

Yea for the good news! Sending vines that the post chemo days go as well. While not green Trixie is still in normal numbers so yea for that too.

Good appy, bloodless pilling. Sounds like a good start for Trixie...and her bean!

Glad the third infusion went well. And cool bit of multitasking with your dad's infusion, mom's shopping. Everyone wins!

Food was an issue for me during chemo. Some foods I loved became loathed. And some I sought out during chemo, I can't stand now. Just weird. But so glad you identified the lactose intolerance. Screw up the gut and nothing goes well.

I'm happy to hear that your dad is doing well and I hope he continues to feel better! Sending more vines! That's really interesting about the lack of dairy making such a difference. It makes sense. I'm glad you figured it out!

Shopping = torture in my book, I'm with DF!  I'm glad your mom could get her fix. That is great news about your dad feeling better without the dairy. :-D :-D Hope this round is ok. Hey, Ms. P, don't be a slacker!
