Looks like Ms P is feeling a bit sluggish today (and I did test a little earlier than usual...)...c'mon, little lady, let's show off those "natural skill" you've got! Appy is quite happy, though. And the last three pillings have gone off without incident. In fact, both pillings yesterday were "holes in one"!! This morning, she was somewhat prepped for battle, feeling very ready to bat my hand down, but fortunately I was faster than her and got the pill down smoothly on the third attempt. Yet another "phew".
Chemo day also went very smoothly for my Dad yesterday. The process ran without any major delays between events (bloodwork, doctor visit, infusion), so I actually got home a full hour and a half earlier than usual! One of the drugs can cause a couple negative reactions (anaphylactic and an extreme sensitivity to cold) at any point during treatment (meaning, during any round, AND at any point in time during the infusion itself. even if it didn't cause a reaction in the past...it's crazy)....fortunately, neither of those reactions have surfaced. Additionally, it seems that removing the dairy from his diet has caused huge improvements...not only does he not have the belly ache any more, but his appetite has improved significantly, and he doesn't feel full after just a few bites of food, plus it's suddenly easier for him to down all the water he needs in order to flush out his system. It's amazing, and makes me wonder how many other chemo patients might have at least enough of a lactose intolerance to not cause major belly ache symptoms, but enough to cause the other symptoms my Dad was experiencing, but they don't realize it's the lactose causing the problem. While my Dad was in the infusion chair, my Mom and I did some shopping and had lunch, which made both of them happy: my Dad hates shopping but worries about my Mom going out alone, so she has been dying to "shop in peace" for a while; and it bothers my Dad that I'm spending my days off just sitting around with them, so he felt better that I was doing something productive.
Gotta get myself moving...have a great day, LL!
