I’ve been noticing a little bump on snow’s tail for a few days and today was in a position to inspect it and it’s a sore. (Pics) I don’t believe this is diabetes related but thought I’d mention it in case anyone dealt with something similar.

Snow’s brother peed outside of the litter 2x yesterday but then within an hour began acting completely normal again. I assume urine issues don’t just resolve themselves so looks like we’re making a family trip to the vet tomorrow!

I’m not so sure that’s EGC. It’s usually on the lower lip or in the mouth. You could try an antihistamine like 1/2 regular strength Zyrtec every 24 hours and switching to a protein Snow has never eaten before if it is EGC. You would need to feed only that novel protein for at least a month.

I hadn’t heard of EGC! I appreciate the info @tiffmaxee @Bandit's Mom :)

A few times in the past, Snow licked small spots on her elbow (2x) and knee raw. Each time was about 6 months’ apart and the last time the vet gave her the steroid shot that I’m fairly sure triggered the diabetes. I thought the sores were stressed-induced and was relieved they had resolved but I feel like this might be the same thing. I haven’t noticed her licking it though whereas with the prior “hot spots” it was clear she was over-grooming. Our vet’s first opening is on Friday so hopefully that’ll provide some answers (and relief for the Snowman)!

@Bandit's Mom - I was caught working late so my bf gave her last night’s insulin and didn’t take her BG.
