Good morning, Sue! --Erm, or I guess it's already afternoon for you
So far, not as bad a bounce as I was dreading

Of course, we all would like to see Luci do better; hopefully she slides down back to blue soon.
Not sure how to go about that...if that were the case, wouldn't it seem reasonable then that she'd display this same behavior on Lev? It seemed like she was more level on Lev...although the endless yellow bookends just couldn't be shook...there weren't as many dives...although she's always been a big fan of diving...I thought it was better.
Okay, this is where my bad memory is coming into play. I'm sure I'd read somewhere, at some time, that the body can mount different immune responses to different insulin. So while there might be very low activity for one type (say Lev) the body might pick up the response when exposed to another (in this case, maybe Tresiba?). I can't say for sure something like this is happening, and for the life of me I can't remember where I read this

I want to think that the solution was to either wait it out, or eventually switch to either another new insulin, or back to an old one that had a better response. But since I can't remember where I might have read this

Instead of taking this with a grain of salt, you might need the whole grinder...
I don't depend on the syringes to be uniform - so I use calipers - I'm aware that those markings on the syringe can vary from batch to batch, even from one syringe to the next...so I gave that up a long time ago. And when I set those calipers and lock them, they're dependably the same from one time to the next...so I'm pretty sure we're getting a consistent dose...
I was pretty sure this was the case

Overall, you have a much better handle on FD than I ever had
Do you think with Tresiba I should follow the TR dosing method; holding a dose for 3 days, reducing after 3 x under 50 or 1 under 40? At this point I'm not sure what to think of how she's doing on Tresiba...I expected to see some differences on the pre-shots, not in the middle of the cycle...but if Tresiba has a deeper half-life that extends into the next day, then mid-cycle could be the time when it's going to show up...
My logic is based on her dives at about 2-4 hours after getting her shot, which when combined with the half-life/depot effect of Tresiba it's possible that the load is just too much and pushes her numbers down at that particular time.
If that's the case, I'm going to have to test more than ever...not exactly the effect I was hoping for. It seem that the same is happening on the PM cycle...she tends to start that drop right around 3-5+...what a stinker!
You have a very good, intuitive grasp of TR. I think you're good using it as a guideline, but if you get a gut feeling that maybe you need to hold the dose a bit longer despite Luci diving repeatedly -- or if you get a feeling in the opposite direction that she needs a reduction early -- I'd say go with what you feel more secure with. Luci isn't abiding by any rules
It could be that you're seeing a secondary dip with the Tresiba after the next shot time. I'd wondered, too. Because while supposedly Tresiba
might have an onset at the 1 1/2 hour mark, it's not supposed to really kick in until later. Much later. But if there is a lingering effect from the last shot... Yeah, that might account for it. Eventually the Tresiba nadir time
should move further and further out... eliminating that overlap that's sending her diving (if that's what it is). But that's months down the road.

Come on, Luci! Stability is fun!
Have a great day, Sue!
