Yesterday's Condo

I was awakened by the sound a kitty puking -- a sound that pretty much always will wake me out of a dead sleep. Gabby has been having hairball issues. She threw up yesterday evening, as well. I not only got to clean up the floor (fortunately on the wood, not the rug) but, Gabby has also left an aromatherapy deposit in the litter box. She really must have wanted to wake me up! She can be so lady like about some things but she refuses to dig and cover in the box. (She let's Gizmo take care of her business!) She came back to bed and climbed on top of me for some semi-morning purrs. (It was 3 AM.)

What a way to wake up. It wakes us up from the dead of sleep as well. Nice on the aromatherapy. Too early for that Gabby. Have a great day Sienne!

Re: 9/24 Gabby PMPS~220 Vines for DS's kitty

My sister's cat, Shiwa, could use lots of vines and good thoughts. He was diagnosed with kidney cancer at the end of last week and my sister brought him in to start chemo yesterday. He had a reaction which is very rare in cats -- tumor lysis. The chemo has a huge impact and starts to destroy the tumor cells but the body can't keep up with the toxins that are released as the tumor is being destroyed. His condition is critical. My sister is in Boston and her vet is at Angell Memorial - one of the best veterinary facilities in the country. The critical care and oncology vets have never seen a case of tumor lysis in a cat and they are doing everything they can.

I'm so sorry about your sister's kitty. The reaction to the tumor cells is something I've never heard of and sounds very frightening. I hope the vets can help Shiwa get through this. (((Hugs to your sister)))

The strongest of fight vines and get better vines being sent to Shiwa. I'm glad she's at the best of vets.

Sending tons of prayers for Shiwa, and for Gabby's hairball issues, too!

Thinking of Shiwa and your DS tonight and hoping and praying that the doctors at Angell can help him. Tons of vines!

More prayers for Shiwa and your DS too. Sounds really scary.

Those hairball noises seem to get amplified in our heads.

Re: 9/24 Gabby PMPS~220 , +1.5~80, +3~46 Vines for DS's kitt

The good news is that while it's still touch and go, Shiwa's body temp and blood pressure have come up and he's able to sit up. They haven't repeated labs yet. My sister's vet who some in Boston or who remember some old time members who used Angell, Dr. B actually e-mailed my sister a video of Shiwa responding to Dr. B petting him. He's an incredible vet.

In the meantime, Gabby is keeping me occupied with some drama of her own.

Yes, I had Dr. B in internal medicine, as well as Drs. Wood and Anderson in oncology, for my civvies. Shiwa is in the best place he can be right now.
