I sell raw at my shop--sometimes the protein is too high and will cause vomit and more vomit and more vomit....
I don't know which raw you are feeding but for instance Stella and Chewys is a great quality food but much to high in protein for many dogs and cats-
NW Naturals is also very high...
Many do much better on Steves real food--I believe it is 70% as opposed to 90% or more pure protein...
If it is a very young pet they seem to do fine on the high protein but anything over 5yrs I start on Steves.....
This is good to know! Thank you!

I'm pretty sure NV is one of the higher ones as well..... This may be a reason for Eleanor vomiting so often ? I will talk to my distributor and see if they know of others that are a bit lower and more tolerable.
I have never had issues with Steves Real Food.
Other than mine refuse all raw :banghead:

She had vomiting issues before starting on the raw. But I think it may contribute to her nausea, I'm not sure. It would be interesting to try a lower protein raw and see how she does!

Bupe on an empty stomach can contribute to tummy discomfort. Do you have any all meat baby food, Julie? That is usually well tolerated by cats that don't feel well. Do you have anything to give her for her diarrhea, like Forti Flora or some other probiotic?

I think I'm giving her Natures Variety?? I'll have to look at the bag!
Nature's Variety Chicken is one of the lower protein raw products. Neko was tolerating it just fine. She isn't eating it much now because of the texture and her mouth issues. It's also low in phosphorus which is why it was part of her diet.

Is it possible Eleonor is reacting to a certain protein? For example, if she mostly gets chicken, maybe try something else? Sending feel better vines. Poor girl.

I did syringe feed baby food at +2 but she threw it up. I'm going to try again now.
The only thing that has helped with her diarrhea issues is SEB, I haven't given her any since 5 a.m.
I did not know that about the Bupe!!

She's eating the Rabbit, she had never eaten rabbit before so the hope was she would do better on it....

It's just like any narcotic that the doctor might give to you. They usually say "give with food".

Are you sure your Ondansetron tablets are 4 mg? Most doctors prescribe 8 mg. You can still cut them up for Eleanor, just be sure she doesn't get more than 4 mg.

Might be the rabbit. I had a cat Buster who LOVED raw rabbit but as soon as it hit his stomachs he threw it right back up. EVERY TIME. My other cats ate it no problem. I could tell when he snuck it, which he did because it was irresistible to him, because he threw up. It's weird. His littermate would only eat rabbit and was perfectly fine on it..ECID! Might be a good idea to try others, mine currently eat turkey..come to think of it since I switched and eliminated the rabbit my divvied Lola has not barfed as much..anti jinx!
Could be that protein isn't ageeeing w Eleanor's tummy

+4.75 255. Oh heck, that's getting high.
I fed more baby food and I guess Eleanor has forgiven me, she has come up to cuddle. I'm going to take advantage of the opportunity (Eleanor is not big on cuddling). I'm planning to attempt to give her subq fluids at +6. I hope I can get them into her, she must be dehydrated.

I would also take a few minutes to simply enjoy the cuddling...it's really good for your biorhythms !! And it's just plain too nice to pass up!

Eleanor let me give her subq fluids without causing a scene. What a relief. I'm usually left wondering if the benefit out ways the stress.
I've been syringing baby food and she has not vomited in 3 hours.
Her BG is up to 268. I'm trying not to think about that, there isn't anything I can do. Maybe it will come down with the fluids, and with her next shot.
I'm going to have a nap, I'm exhausted!

So happy to hear that! Yay!! Hope you have a good rest. :bighug::bighug:
