I'm sure it's a shock to their systems when they finally come out of the reds/pinks and blacks. If you look at Grayson's SS (earliest tabs from 2012) you can see how he "was flat as a pancake", and "swam in a sea of pinks & reds" for months, before we started seeing movement. Hang in there!
The other thing I did, much to some peoples' disproval, was Grayson's dose generally increased at 20-25%. The higher the dose, the more that increase was. I kept that up until we started seeing consistent movement into [safe] lower numbers. Keep in mind that a "normal diabetic" usually has 25-50% increases... so in theory, this wasn't a stretch. But as long as we were seeing high numbers, I didn't want to lollygag and let the insulin resistance run me over. I can't say if it was a breakthrough of the resistance, the SRT, or just finally reaching the "ideal" dose (or a combo of any/all of them), when he first started responding. But something changed about October 2012, and improvement continued up until late August 2014.
