It's pretty sad when you can't remember your last post ohmygod_smile I don't really know where the time goes, but it has just flown by! Tiger's left front paw is healing nicely from when I accidently stepped on it, the vet is convinced there was never any broken bones, just aggravated, bruised and probably arthritic. (just like me) She is still able to get around quite well, even venturing back outside into my backyard on sunny days. I have just opened her first new pen of Lantus, I don't know what I was expecting, like some magic to happen and it hasn't. I am also noticing a bigger air bubble with the new Relion syringes I am using, or else it is something to do with the new Solostar pen. I have been experimenting with some of the Wellness foods, she has accepted the plain Chicken pate, hates the Turkey, and likes the Wellness Core Chicken, Turkey and Chicken Liver so far. I am embarassed that I didn't realize the Core was more of a medium core at 8%, and so it probably didn't help her today that I fed Core instead of the Chicken ohmygod_smile Maybe she would have hit green otherwise! For now, she had a pretty good day but I may need to increase again if I can't figure out how to get rid of that big air bubble.

Sending healing vines to all the kitties and humans that need them. There is a kitty in the Health Section named Tisha especially, who is recovering from hospitalization from pancreatitis, it just warms my heart how she has recovered, but then there is BJM's kitty Mason. My heart goes out to all of you!

so glad tigers paw is healing up. they always manage to get right under foot.
take care

Hi Ruth,
Thanks for your visits to Rusty's condo.

I'm glad that Tiger's leg is healing. I'm healing from my bruises (bike accident) too, as long as Rusty doesn't step on them!

Good luck with the foods. Rusty has discovered Dave's Premium Meat 95% Chicken and Chicken Liver. He loves it. Here's a link:

Have a good evening,

Hi Ruth - good to see a Tiger post. Lovely set of blues today. Looks like she's starting to work this dose.

The Core if it's 8% is still considered LC, just a higher LC. MC is 10-15%. If you see Tiger doing a fast drop at the beginning of a cycle, the Core might be a good one to bring out to ease her down. I'm glad she's starting to accept a bit more variety of food, and something that's easy enough to find.

If she doesn't hit green on this dose soon, I'd be thinking increase. You mentioned that you had switched to the Relion syringes. What is 4 units in one brand of syringe may not measure exactly the same in another brand.

Nice to hear Tiger's sore leg is healing. cat_pet_icon

So nice to see a Tiger condo. It has been a long time. She is looking good today. I'm glad the paw is healing. Is her thyroid at the right level now I hope? Thanks for all the visits to my condo the thinking of us. Sounds like you and I have the same issue with bubbles yet I use terumo and you are using relion. The best for that were the monojects for me but the hub made dosing impossible. I hope we both figure out how to get rid of them.

Hi Ruth!
Finally caught Tiger's condo!
I'm happy to hear her paw is healing nicely. :-D
And I love the blue surf she gave you today.
Good luck with the new syringe, different food and dosing.
So many decisions to make, but enjoy the process! I miss that now.

Glad to see a Tiger report - and that's great news on the healing paw.

I found that the Relions were the worst when it came to bubbles. The Terumos had less bubbles, but they were too sensitive for me to use. The slightest touch on any part of the syringe sent insulin squirting out. ohmygod_smile I keep telling DH I need to make the perfect insulin syringe with .10 unit markings on it that is neither "bubbly" nor too sensitive (but also not too stiff). I could be rich beyond my wildest dreams.

Good luck with the food experimentation. I know it's tough to figure out what to feed - and when, especially when you have picky kitties in the house.
