9/22 Rusty PMPS 127, +4.5 229(!!)

Good Morning, Everyone,

We started a new pen of Levemir this morning. I hope it will help bring Rusty down to more typical numbers. I had his prescription refilled at a local pharmacy, just to see if the last batch of cartridges might have deteriorated (I still have 2 left of the Canadian cartridges). This new pen does not have as strong a smell as the last cartridge. Anyway, I didn't smell Levemir after giving the shot, but on the other hand Rusty didn't complain (as he almost always does) during his shot; and I didn't feel the needle pop out. So who knows whether or not the insulin got in!! We'll find out later, of course!

We all had a good night. This morning we have a lower AMPS than in recent days, so hopefully that is a sign that Rusty is on the way back to good numbers. Rain expected today, but I hope we'll have some dry intervals so that Rusty can go outside. At the moment, he's relaxing on the couch. We had a good combing this morning.

Good morning!! Good luck on the new juice! I always wonder about the Canada insulin. I had an issue of "lost in the mail" the last time I ordered from them, so I have decided to switch back to the pharmacy and just lump it on the extra cost. Fresh and fast is worth it to me.

Nice AMPS for Rusty today! Hope you have a nice rainy day and can just enjoy it. It is raining here but I had to go tbp. Blech. I would much rather be snuggled up at home.

Hey Rusty! Is it rainin there? It's rainin here too. Mannie said something about hang gliding. That would be fun. I thought maybe we could go surprise Punkin and Anya when they get home too. - Tarragon

Hi guys .. I hope the new pen does the trick for rusty .. this is a nicer start to the day so that is promising .. I also hope it stops raining so rusty can venture out .. have a great day guys!

Rusty wanted to go out in the rain to survey the rock wall and see if the chipmunk was there. So he made a mad dash to underneath the car, sat for a few minutes, then sat in the rain for a few more minutes, and then came running in! Then we had a good game with the Cat Charmer.
I am so happy to see his +5.5 at a good number. The shot must have gotten in. This afternoon I must take Edward to his chiropractor, but will be home in time for a test at +8.5 or +9.

Well, that +5.5 is a much nicer number. but Rusty, the gang needs you at the Lagoon. Your MC job at the parties there is vacant!

We're i the waiting for rain mode here, hopefully it will start in about a month. :? or two?

Hi again,
We almost made green at +9. Yea! Rusty had a great afternoon, spending about an hour outdoors. He also played again with the Cat Charmer with Edward, said hello to all the toys in his basket, had a tuna treat at dinner time (we were having tuna casserole, so he got a little tuna, too), and is now sleeping in said basket (one of Stu's old baskets: too small for either of these big cats!)
This has been a most encouraging day. Let's hope the shot tonight was a good one (he complained mightily; we didn't smell insulin).

Lovely AM cycle for Rusty, not just in terms of numbers, but in all the goings on!! Willie often likes to go out in the rain... until after about 10 minutes when he realizes he's all wet! :lol: :lol: :lol:

Fingers and paws crossed that the new pen has you in greens tonight!

Sounds like a very fine day for Rusty, good toys, good time outside, good shots, and darn good fuds!! It just doesn't get any better! :lol:

what a great day for Rusty!!! YAY! The Numbers are good - and lay. loved the squirrel story - too funny. It always amazed me when kitties cram themselves into something that is too small for them. Mannie has adopted this fleece bed - way too small for him, but it is now his bed of choice. it is too funny, as he hangs out on all sides...

Well, the good day came crashing down (UP!). I don't know where this number came from at +4.5. Tested twice: 231/ 229. I don't think it was a fur shot. How could it be a bounce? I'm at a loss. Maybe the new pen isn't good.

hi ella. i wouldn't worry about the insulin. rusty did the exact same thing on 09/17 after dipping into green during the AM cycle.
i think there's a real good chance this yellow you're seeing is simply a bounce from a drop to green earlier today.

just my thoughts...
 
Wrong way, Buddy! Jill's right, Ella... don't jump to conclusions on the insulin just yet. Bounce, fur shot, being a cat... regardless of the cause, you'll have Rusty back on track soon. :-D :-D :-D :-D

At least you get to head to bed!!
