Yesterday's Condo

Well, came downstairs and did Rufus' test, opened up the netbook only to discover that my network wasn't available. I couldn't figure it out... until I came downstairs from feeding/medicating John-Finn and thought to myself, "... the router is in that room. I wonder if he turned it off!" and sure enough, he must have pounced on the surge protector's power button, because that thing was off.

Ay-ay-ay. So, got that straightened out and everyone is fed and medicated. Rufus' AMPS is 301 and I shot 1.25u. If it turns out to be too much once we get him under control we'll roll things back a little. Now, for a sammich  .

Good luck with the dosecrease. And too funny, well maybe not, on the router. Mine like to mess with the TV remote - takes me forever to figure it out once they stepped on all those buttons. Aiyee!

Hope too that Rufus can find some lower numebrs today. Yellow is just around the corner Rufus - you can do it!

Rufus, Rufus, Rufus... You were supposed to go down not UP! What is this? He's not even acting abnormal. This only started after their tussle. I suppose he could be having anxiety about that. I wish they had Kitty self defense classes. Anybody know how to de-stress a cat? Does Rufus need to face his fear and get over it? (feline exposure therapy?) It would be nice to know how long he's going to go on with this. ohmygod_smile

An improvement!!! This makes me excited... it's also after they spent about forty minutes together downstairs with me.

So, I talked with Mom at work and she and I decided, after we compared observations, to close off the rooms upstairs (so no one could start hide-and-seek games) and go for a little exposure. I got out a metal can and filled it with noisy stuff to distract them from any pre-fighting, and let John-Finn come downstairs.

It seems that John-Finn is either afraid of Rufus, or still hissing-mad (literally) over that fight that Rufus instigated the other day. If Rufus so much as looks at him with any kind of intent, John-Finn hisses. They came up close to each other as I was preparing to bring John-Finn upstairs so I could take a nap in peace and John-Finn hissed all the way back up as I carried him back to his room... actually that was kind of funny.

I expected, as we came approached +7 that Rufus would be sky high from all this drama... instead, he's down! We're going to order a Feliway diffuser on Payday this week and see if that doesn't help lessen the tension down here. They have to get used to each other - there's no point in getting Rufus settled with having John-Finn behind a closed door if he's going to come out and start the cycle all over again. Definitely need to expose them to each other. I just hope no one gets hurt in the process.

... and I'd forgotten what stupid things kittens do! That silly boy got himself trapped underneath the TV stand.

I do think the feliway diffusers help I use them here and recommend them to my aby kitten buyers for when they need to into kittens to new older cats anyway so glad to see Rufus come down to the yellow floor :-D
