Muffin seems the same this morning. I haven't given her any more bupe, I wonder should I just give it every 8 hrs for a couple days? I know around noon she's been acting like it's starting to hurt, so I intended to give it then, but maybe I should just give it anyway? LB contributions are present lately, a little heavy on the pee, and she still hasn't asked to go outside since this whole thing started. That was getting to be a new habit for her. So I don't doubt that she feels less than perfect. I just wish I get her numbers to come down some - that feels like the only way I can help her. I guess I just have to let the denosyl and ab's do their job.

Oh, and when I saw the 241 at +6 last night, I figured I didn't need to bother with the +9, got +11 instead. Hopefully today will be better than yesterday.

Hi Ann. I would for sure give Muffin the Bupe regularly for the next couple of days. That's what I do when Tori has a flare. Did the vet send you home with fluids as well or was he going to see on a day by day basis? I'd ask about Pepcid as well. I know Muffin is eating but it cuts down on the acidity and generally helps them feel better.

Poor little Muffin. Having a sore tummy like that is no fun and I know what a worry it is for you Anne. Hang in there. I bet she'll be feeling better soon.

Hi Barb. The vet just called to check on Muffin, and he said the same thing about the Bupe, so I've now given that, and will do so every 8 hrs for the next 2 days. He did not send fluids home with me, but we does want me to keep updating him on her bg's. Next time I call I'll ask about additional fluids.

+2 221 Didn't eat much this morning, but eating something now. Going to run out of AT test strips today probably, have relion strips for back up.

Feel better soon Muffin. the ABS will work soon...but it is good that you gave her more bupe.
She will be back to better numbers soon Anne....first things first, right? Give her some hugs from us.... ((Muffin))

Hey Anne....we've had one cat go thru pancreatitis and the bupe every 8 hours really helped as did squids...alot. We only gave him 50mls a day but it was just enough to make him feel better. I am giving 75 mls to Grace EOD just for support for her pancreas with all it's going through and just to help keep her hydrated until her numbers look a little better. I'm glad to see Muffin's numbers coming down...maybe she and Gracie can match up in the blue today. Have a great day and hugs to Muffin...hope she has fun outside.

Talked to Muffin regular vet for quite a while. She suggested stopping the Clavimox to see if that helps her feel better. She thinks the bladder infection/UTI (whichever it was) was so minor and caught early enough that it should be cleared up by now. If in 24 hrs she's still not feeling better to call back. She may want to redo the bloodwork and the spec FPL to see if any of the values are rising. She's a bit concerned about the GGT being elevated, as none of the other liver values are, and thinks it may be worth rechecking that if things don't improve. In the beginning of the conversation I mentioned more fluids, but she didn't really say anything about that. Also when I gave her the bupe this morning, it basically all came out in one big glob onto her gum, so she basically ate it instead of it asosrbing thru the gums, so it may not be having as good an effect today as it did yesterday. So I'll give it another day to see if she improves. Any other mid cycle tests I do I'll do with the ReliOn meter so the ones they are interested in can be done with AT, since that's what they understand.

My poor little girl, I feel so bad for her.

+7.25 was 121 with ReliOn meter - in my past comparisons that's about 180 on my AT meter. Had to get her out of the closet to test, but she stayed out after and ate a little bit, then went to sit on her kitty condo. This is just a 1 story round room and is kept between the couch and the wall, so it's still a "hiding place" for her. I know she wanted to join the party decorating party today, and she's sorry she couldn't make it. She's been really looking forward to the Gala tomorrow night, and hopes she feels up to it. Gave more bupe at +8.5, so maybe she can come visit condos with me later.

Hey Muffin - we all hope you feel better soon. I wish I had some helpful hints, but have never had to deal with this before. Healing vines and lots of hugs for Muffin.

Hey Anne...poor Muffin has been all over the place today with her numbers. Poor girl. I really hope she starts feeling better soon. I know you must be worried.

We decided to do a 9.75 on Gracie. From +10 to +12, I don't feed her so about 9.75, we feed her dinner and supplements so we decided to test first and then feed her. So I'm not happy that she's in the pink on this test and I imagine her PMPS will be higher.

Do you like the Alpha Trak? I almost bought one but I heard the strips are expensive and hard to get. At low numbers, there seemed to be a 20 "pt" difference between my One Touch Ultra mini and the Alpha Trak at my vet as tested on one of our civvies. I don't know about the higher numbers...probably even more so Gracie's 330 may be 370.

Hi Muffin, I'm so sorry you're still not feeling well. I'd like to stop over with some chicken soup later. OK? I'm sure you'll feel better tomorrow and that you'll feel like coming to the party. pmps 205 The relion said 155. Just fyi, the tests I do with the relion (until my AT strips arrive) I'm approximating as AT numbers for the ss. I'll put a ~in front of the number, and then in the comments section list the relion number. Hopefully less confusing that way.

Had to carry Muffin in for testing and shot tonight, she doesn't want any part of it. She ate her turkey slices for dinner, but none of the dry food.

Thank you all for the good thoughts and vines you've been sending. I'm sure they'll help. Muffin may just be resting up today so she can go to the party tomorrow!
