Yesterday's shenanigans



Well, Harry is still doing things his own way. Doing slightly better with his new dose reduction... But still creeping low after his PM shot. He just doesn't like staying above the 70's at night. Lol

Hoping for surfing today and maybe a nap?
 
Isn't it grand when our kitties go lower at night? On one hand, it's nice so I don't have to worry as much while at work, but on the other hand... I really really like sleep :)
Hope he surfs gently for you today so you get some needed rest in :)

I'll put it this way. Sleep is NOT overrated. I used to take kunesta to get at least 5 hours and haven't slept well since I stopped. FD made it worse. I hope Harry settles down
 
Nice start to the day, especially considering the wonderful display of cliff diving he did last night!!

Hopefully the .25 dose will be enough to get him into normal numbers without keeping you up all night, every night!!

Surf safely now Harry...you really have caused enough trouble already young man!

Haha he had caused a lot of trouble!! I'll be gone most of the morning, too. We'll see he is when I get back home.
 
And when you do shoot, please decrease the dose to 0.25u. Although another drop down within 4-6 cycles can be attributed to the depot from the higher dose, you skipped a shot and drained his depot. For safety, I'd reduce the dose again. Harry seems to just be renting a condo here.

I think it almost has to be your decision this time Erika

We've been through all the options and possible things that could happen as well as reminding you that it depends a lot on how tired you are and how willing you are to stay up if necessary....every night .....LOL
 
I agree - I am thinking even more that I would lengthen the cycles to 18 and still only give .25 but that leaves you shooting at like 2am and having to test at 3am and 4am. That night cycle would only be once every...3 days?
 
This wouldn't be a good thing to do with most other cats but Harry's just getting tired of this juice so refuses to play by the rules... :)

Aww man!! Pushing the baby birds outta the nest already? Lol jk! I know, I know... Gotta put my big girl pants on and make up my mind. Lol
 
Ok. I'm going to feed him and skip tonight's shot. In the morning I'm gonna see how he is. If he's high, .25 dose. If he's normal than? Should I skip again? I know the depot will be almost empty but I feel like giving him insulin is gonna drop him again. Can someone explain why this would be a bad idea if I skipped twice in a row? Other than he won't have insulin for 24 hours.
 
I think the next dose to try would be .1

We like to keep them on insulin as long as possible before trying an OTJ trial, so I'd be practicing my measuring and see if you can get a .1 dose

A lot of us say to push the plunger in as hard as you can....then put it into the vial (or pen), holding the plunger in hard and then just let go...the vacuum in the syringe will pull back a tiny dose
