Good morning LL! I'm really thinking Muffin doesn't want to be here anymore. I would like to do an OTJ trial for her, but want your opinions first. I went ahead and shot this morning, but shot the smallest amount I can possibly shoot. I'm pretty sure there was actually something in the the syringe... ;-) I almost didn't shoot at all, but, as I said, I'd to like hear from you all, and if today didn't go well without insulin, I didn't want to be up again tonight with her. I'd rather start on a PM cycle, KWIM? Muffin seems to be feeling fine this morning, she ate most of her breffis, cooperated for testing and shooting, and is now mostly likely off to take care of one of those P's. I skipped bupe this morning, I'm wondering if that's contributing to her "accessible hiding" behavior during the day. If she seems uncomfortable at all, tho, I'll certainly give it later. Yep, I hear the litter box, so that's purring and peeing taken care of.

You are clearly a mind reader. Jill sent me a PM this morning. This was her comment:
i'm not so sure muffin requires any insulin now that she's being treated for p-titis. her numbers have come down since anne has been giving bupe. this could be a case where pain pushed the numbers up or the flare is subsiding.

just a suggestion...
anne may want to play this one by ear as far as knowing when to shoot... if she needs to shoot. i don't think the standard "rules" apply at this point in time.

What I think Jill is suggesting is to try an OTJ trial. If it turns out that Muffin needs a shot every so often, so be it. Essentially, this would be an individually tailored program for Muffin only. We'll just watch. You know to feed numbers if they look a bit high.

I'd say go for it when you're ready.

Thanks Ann and Jane! I'm very excited! Let's just hope she does ok on her own! Guess I'll have to step up the testing when I'm not shooting. No more going 2 months between tests!

ETA: Just went out and watched the space shuttle fly over the house! Very exciting!

+3 46. I know I should be testing more frequently at these numbers, but I'm confident that she'll do her usual surf here. She is eating after each test, and not so thrilled about the pokies. I am keeping an eye on her physically, checking to see where she's hanging out and what she's doing. Newbies, please do not follow my example here. Muffin has always been a pretty consistent kitty, and although this time on the juice has been different than last time, she's still been pretty darned consistent and I know her really really well. Again, this is Muffin-specific, so DO NOT TRY THIS AT HOME! ;-) Now I'm off to Walmart to get more ReliOn strips - I know, I'm leaving when she's 46 and that is generally a no-no. If I had any doubt she wouldn't be fine, I'd throw a drop of karo on her food, but I'm afraid she'll start turning down her plain food if she keeps getting karo on it. She LOVES it!! ohmygod_smile Will be back for +4.

+4 51 That's still on True 2 Go. Barely got back from Walmart in time, didn't have time to dig out the new strips.

Congrats on the trial! Great job...while we love having you here...we'd all like to see Muffin back in her condo at the falls!

Pmbg 87 and the Trial Begins!! I'm so excited to just be able to go to bed tonight, and not have to worry about testing, setting alarms, sleeping thru them, etc etc. I've told Muffin that's her last pokie of the night, but I'm not sure she believes me @-)

The house is empty tonight - kids AND grandkids all spending the night elsewhere, so I'm going to take some Tylenol PM and hit the sack. NI NI LL!!!
