nadir just means the lowest point of the cycle - Darin's right that it can vary from cat to cat. I'd say with Michael yesterday, his 148 at +3 was the nadir.
The nadir isn't the same from one cycle to the next. They can move around from one day to the next. Punkin's was pretty predictable - most cycles his nadir was at +5.5, but not always. Bounce cycles always "run over" the regular cycle, and you might not even see a curve.
The nadir is significant because Lantus dosing is based upon how low a dose gets a cat to. You want to try to catch the low point (nadir) in as many cycles as you can. Now, if you caught that 148 and Michael continued going lower, maybe getting to 125, the difference between 148 and 125 isn't going to change what decisions you make dose-wise. But if he'd kept going down after the 148 and hit 55, that might make a difference.
I'm not saying that i think he did that, i'm just trying to explain why you want to know how low a dose is getting Michael to.
