Morning,

He had a good night last night, climbed his tower, chasing his brother, got a good brushing...and we did more pokeys!

I am shooting low, and getting nervous again about it, but think I am doing ok, a little reassurance would be a big help to me!
DH is having a hard time understanding the concept of insulin and numbers and food spikes and extra testing...he tests when I ask though, so I guess it is ok!

Left out some extra wet food this am for him, and his feeder is set for noon, DH will try for midday test today, working in the woods....

TGIF!!!!
Good day to all!

Hi guys .. it is nerve wracking to shoot lower numbers but you ARE doing it and you ARE doing great! I'm with your DH, never understood half of FD but that's what this group was for  They'd tell me to shoot, or to raise/lower and I did .. thank goodness for LL! Have a great weekend guys!

I think you are doing great too.
And paws crossed that Junior has some good actions while you are home this weekend so you can move forward and worry less. :-D
Nice healing numbers today.

And yes, its so good to have a DH willing to test when you ask.
So many who have to do this all alone.

Thanks for the encouragement!
It really does help knowing someone thinks you are doing the right thing.

I am lucky he will help, he doesn't quite understand, but that is ok, at least he helps. and keeps an eye on me too!
He says I worry to much about the low numbers, because that is what we want, right? and I tell him I have to watch closely because if he goes to low...
and then he says my stress causes his numbers to go up, which could be true, so I have been making a concious effort to be relaxed and happy when testing, shooting, checking pee, etc...

More pokeys this weekend, at least if he goes low at night, I can sleep during the day, no work this weekend!

have a great weekend all.

This is looking good!!

What would you think about adding a bit of fat to Junior's dose? I'd love to see if you could nudge his overall level down a notch.

Hi Sienne,

I was waiting for you...I think I have gotten over shooting low, and have been doing ok, or so it seems!

You think I should fatten it up?
I am nervous already...but I would love to see it go down more also, and now that I know I can shoot low...

I think I can do it, have been practicing with water measuring doses...

Another discussion tonight with DH, he also needs to agree with me about this, as he does some shots when I work late or visit parents...
can I measure the dose in the syringe ahead of time for him if it is a problem?

Pre-loading a syringe isn't a great idea. In the sticky pertaining to how to store Lantus there's a link to an article that indicates that pre-loading syringes isn't advised by either the manufacture of Lantus or the syringes.

DH is going to need to practice, too!!

well I have pre loaded syringes even though its advised against for my son when we go out of town he is afraid he will draw too much so to me doing on occasion is not big deal but I am sure there are those who feel you should never do it
