Ivy has had decreased appetite since Tuesday when she was sedated for X-rays of her healing broken leg.
She vomited later Tuesday & has struggled with appetite since.
I’ve given Cerenia 2X & then mirtazapine to stimulate appetite, yesterday.
She ate some on her own last night, then I had to resume small snacks by syringe feeding later in the night to get her food in.
She’s also had yucky loose stools the past 2 days.
The sedation really messed with her system.
This morning she was vocalizing, asking for food before I was out of bed. That’s the mirtazapine at work.
We are at +1 and her BG is dropping already so that’s a good sign I hope, as she’s been in higher bgs since all of this began a few days ago.
Hoping she slides down gently today and eats on her own resuming her normal appetite.
Wishing all of you a safe and happy day.
