9/20 Zeke PMPS = 264; +9.5 = 577 (Record High)

OMG ! I accidently fed Zekey 15 % MC this morning. And it was a heaping Tbl !!!! I'm inconsolable right now. Is there anything I can do to counteract this? Can I make him throw up? If so how. OMG - What should I expect from this?

Have any of you done anything so careless? Did I just ruin any chance for remission?

I'M A MESS RIGHT NOW. SO UPSET. :cry: :cry: :cry: :cry:

Take a deep breath. It's just a tiny blip in his care. I feed my cat 9% all the time because it helps a little with the dives. It may elevate Zeke's BG a little for the morning, but it will wear off quickly (that's why when your cat is going low, and you feed him high carb, you have to keep checking in case the BG has come down again). It may even give you a bit of a learning opportunity because you will see how much this carb level makes Zekes' BG go up, and that could be good to know when he's going low sometime.

Please don't worry. Most everyone has sometimes even given a fur shot which means a whole cycle with no insulin. Sure, the cat's BG goes up temporarily, but it is back down again before you know it.

You can remove the 911 icon. This is not a life-threatening emergency.

Morning. I was just heading out the door, and then saw this. It will be OK. the effects of the HC will wear off over the course of the morning. Worst case scenario: numbers on the high side for this morning. It will ride its course, then back to the LC. No need to worry. I wouldn't make him throw up, and no you didn't ruin chances of remission. It's just one feeding out of several, things will be fine.

No worries! It's really just a bit extra carbs, he may not even notice. Well, he probably loved it! :lol: :lol: :lol: Don't beat yourself up, you are doing a great job with Mr. Zeke and he appreciates all you do for him.

I'll jump on the "don't worry" bandwagon. It should be out of his system soon. I bet each of us wishes we had a quarter for every time we've overcarbed our kitty! :lol:

I actually was thinking the way he was diving at night that you might need to give him some extra carbs to flatten him out some. Let's see how he does.

He probably thought it was his birthday :-D

Thank you everyone. You guys are AWESOME!!! I feel much better now. It's nice just having a community where I can vent. Though often I feel so guilty whining and venting because I see so many others on FDMB that are dealing with much more difficult situations or sick kitties and managing their kitties FD for an extended period of time and doing so without any complaints, with humor and very positive attitudes. You all are o:-) o:-) o:-) o:-). I very much admire you.

Thank you for letting me be here and benefitting immensely from your knowledge and experience. I'm not worthy but am so very, very grateful.

i doubt Zeke thought it was a mistake at all. he was probably all "WOOHOO I got the good stuff!"

no worries. you're doing fine. and yes, it's a good community. with FD you need all the help you can get to learn it all!
