Stalling going into tbp until I see where Ollie thinks he wants to go today. He looks great again...all 5 p's in place. He's napping near a catnip plant after his 2nd breakfast. Will test @ +3

Wow....looks like an exciting day ahead - good for you guys!!!

You may want to consider a test at +2.5. That was close to 45% drop in two hours!

Have you fed him any more since the +2? His numbers looks GREAT!

Ollie looks like his nadir often sits at +6.....is work definitely on the agenda today? How long can you stall? (I had to go in last week on lower than usual +2, so I just set up the auto-feeder to deliver food through the +6 just to be on the safe side).

He hasn't ate since +2...just pure bites at testing. Unless I take the whole day off I should go in now. :roll:

I have noticed Ollie will seek food with low numbers. I think I'm going to give him a teaspoon of MC (served at his napsite) and leave another on top of his LC in the dish. Does that sound reasonable? These are the times I hate to leave. :sad:

You know Ollie much better than I! My kitty would gobble both dishes down at once and not having anything to reserve later.

The MC now (maybe 2 tsp to be safe) will take things up for 1-2 hours.....and if you feel confident he will go to his dish if needed later...your plan sounds fine.

I hear you about hating to leave at these times....I usually err on the side of caution if I'm not going to be around. I'd rather he be high than low (thus the 2 tsp now idea).

Then pull up that HC and let him ride :-D :-D :-D :-D ......testing every +30 of course ;-) ;-) ;-)

I'm keeping my fingers crossed for a reduction today...go Ollie go!

I am glad I stayed home and get to ride this out. I have tested him every +30 minutes since last post and he has hoovered at 57 and 58. I even tested myself just to make sure I wasn't just getting these numbers from a bad meter....I'm 85 :-D

This is with just a snack of MC (when I was thinking of leaving at +3.5 )and then nothing but pure bites at testing. It's nice to see what he's doing and I think he's doing a great job. :mrgreen: I want to see him go to his dish on his own...just more data for the bean.

Sorry you had to call in to tbp, but do understand. I'd probably do the same.

Yes, food is in his bowl...all LC...he just got up and marched to it and is having a nice snack. Seeing this makes me happy...I was worried he might drop way low.

Ollie is 65 at +6 after a snack...which he fed himself :-D

I'm pretty proud of the little fella and I never thought we would get here!

How great that he is taking himself through this and doing the right things when he should....WOW is all I can say......and of course, not wanting to jump the gun, but I have a feeling you are going to have an equally as satisfying night :-D :-D You two are both pros!!!

Ollie has had a busy day. I think I'll give his ear a break until PMPS. I'm glad I got to see what he does with a low run. I believe I could have brought his numbers up if I had to....but it sure was nice not having to. :smile: He seems to stay pretty flat with lantus. For now he's very happy with a catnip nap. Thanks for taking this ride with us :-D

ollie did just great today! way to go! those are some sweet numbers - let's hope he'll stay in this range.

and now after all the talk of fuds, i feel a need to find a snack. let's see, the nutter butters that haven't been opened yet, or a nice healthy apple. hmmmmm. decisions decisions. :-D

Ollie ended the AM cycle still in the green. :mrgreen: I wonder what tonite may bring. He seems to feel great and that's the part that really makes me the happiest.

Ollie continues on his mission. This is all new territory for me. :shock: He's had a good snack and has settled in for a grooming session. I've been covering his poor little ear with neosporin after each test. He doesn't seem to mind as long as a treat is involved :-D We have done a lot of testing today :mrgreen:

After a run of low numbers should I expect a bounce? Do some kitties seem to bounce more than others? Just wondering what might come next. With this large dose I worry...

He may bounce a bit, not so much from the lowness - he's seen these numbers often in the past 1.5 weeks. However, he has not had such a long run before and that could cause a bounce in some kitties.
Why some kitties are bouncy bewilders me. Some start out that way and along the path it changes; some keep bouncing. ECID.
Hard to tell what comes next at this stage. It is very interesting!
You're wise to have a healthy respect for that dose. Stay in tune with Ollie - he'll let you know if it's too much.
