YESTERDAY'S CONDO:
viewtopic.php?f=9&t=125575

Not starting off well this morning. Max was trying to throw up I presume fur this morning but didn't succeed. Then his BG showed he is bouncing and is higher this morning than in a long time. He did eat his baby food chaser and some of his ff and Stella & C. I think I will give him some squash for a few days and see if that helps.

Vines and prayers to all in need.

Re: 9/20 MAX AMPS 290

That's no way to start the day, Mr. Max. Let's get that hairball out of there and get back to green.

How do you like the pen versus the vial, Elise?

Continuing to send prayers for your mom.
Shelly

Re: 9/20 MAX AMPS 290

Oh Max. As I say to Polly from time to time. Just hurk it up already. And I follow her around with a roll of paper towels under one arm and a bottle of spray cleaner dangling from my hand.

Yes, her numbers go up when she's working on an urp. So Max. Get it out. Let your numbers come down.

Vines.

Re: 9/20 MAX AMPS 290

Hi Shelly. I don't notice any difference between the pen and the vial except that I see the bubble going in right away. I've given up trying to get rid of them. I'll practice at some point with my old vial when I have the patience.

Thanks, Marilyn for stopping by. I just bought another gallon of Simple Solution. Max is grooming a lot. I've been brushing a lot too. This morning it was a huge effort to vomit, coming from the belly rather than an attempt to cough something up. He didn't succeed, just a little brown liquid. I'm starting to wonder if he has a little pancreatitis going on. He's eating though which has me stumped. I just know he doesn't feel well and maybe the appetite from diabetes causes different symptoms for him now.

I've given up trying to get rid of them.

That was one thing I truly hated about Lantus. I couldn't ever seem to get all of the bubbles out no matter what I tried. Humulin was definitely better in that regard. Very few bubbles and easier to see. (That was probably the only good thing about it.)

Sending lots of feel-better vines for Max!

Re: 9/20 MAX AMPS 290

Thanks, Shelly. I just look to see if the bubble is about the same size as usual. Today's seemed a little bigger. The funny thing is I didn't have the same issue when using monojects. I switched because of the hub and for the mmost part feel the dose is more consistent except for the bubble issue.

Re: 9/20 MAX AMPS 290+2/333

Max has eaten a lot but not feeling well. Restless and grooming a lot. Normal pee and poop but making noises and uncomfortable. Maybe furballs. Food bump.

Re: 9/20 MAX AMPS 290+2/333

I'm sorry Max isn't feeling very well this morning. I hope he gets the hairball up soon. That can cause BGs to go up. Maybe the new juice helping him get better numbers was a shock to his system and he's bouncing today. I hope he comes back down soon.

What syringes do you use? I use Relions and fight bubbles a lot too. I can usually get a smaller bubble if I pull the plunger back on the syringe and the push it all the way down and hold it there until after I get the syringe in the pen. If I let us just a little bit before I get it in the syringe, I get a bigger bubble.

Hi Elise,
I am sorry to hear that Max isn't feeling well today.
It's good he's eating though...

Sending many feel better vines to Max.

Re: 9/20 MAX AMPS 290+2/333+4.5/292+4/299PMPS 344

Thanks for visiting Carla and Mariko. I'm hoping the bounce ends tonight or tomorrow at the latest.

Shelly, I prefer the vial at this point as well. This morning I thought I had more than 2.5 in the syringe and just barely had the 2.5. Tonight I realized why. A little got sucked back into the pen. The syringe had too big a bubble too so I threw the insulin out and tried again. That one I dropped so threw it out and used another syringe and was careful to make sure that none of the insulin got sucked back in. I was better with that but the bubble was bigger than usual. I tried to practice with the dropped syringe but struck out again at getting rid of the bubble. I hope he got enough insulin. If he is still high I won't know if it's the bounce or less insulin. It seems it will be a learning curve for me.

I'm sorry he's up and not feeling well. Sending him healing vines.

I hope you can get the bubbles out of the syringe. I just usually get one big one on the plunger when I draw so I just flick and expel.

Hope your mom is better.
