Re: 9/20 Autumn amps-158

Is she up one day down the next? Is that how lev goes? Cedric is spending the day at the vet so I don't have his book (it's with him so the vet can see) but he was around 280 this morning, where as he was under 200 yesterday... confused_cat

Re: 9/20 Autumn amps-158

Some days other things effect her that has nothing to do with insulin and diet. Like yesterday we had bad storms and she is an old lady like her mom she hurts on rainy days plus the day before she spent a good portion of the day in the low greens so she bounced.

Just like human diabetics some days are better than others. That's why averages are more important than one day of tests. As long as on average I keep her below renal threshold I don't sweat a few high days.

Remember this isn't an exact science. It isn't this much food this much insulin results in this bg reading in a cat that weighs x amount. If it was the curves at the Vet's would be just as accurate as the ones we run at home. But these are living creatures who have good days and bad days. Who have moods and aches and pains etc.

I'm willing to bet that if we tested our civies as much as we do our sugars we would find even they run higher some days than others. That is just kind of how biology works every thing influences everything else.
