Happy Monday LL!

Achilles has his vet visit tonight. We gave him a dose that is slightly shy of .1u this morning. Also, we left him 8% food with some HC gravy at +1 and +2 to keep his numbers up during the day while we are out.

Have a good day.

Re: 9/20 Achilles AMPS 64 +1 70

Nice AMPS for Achilles...good luck at the vet visit today!
I think that was wise to give him the reduction this morning.....not sure what the experts will say...but he is looking so good!

Re: 9/20 Achilles AMPS 64 +1 70

I hope his numbers do not spike up too high at the vets tonight. nailbite_smile

He will likely get his shot late tonight too b/c the vet visit cuts right into shot time. :YMSIGH:

Thanks for the well wishes. The main reason for the vet visit is to check his AST/ALT levels which were slightly elevated when he was diagnosed. I am hoping that bringing his bgs down will help reduce those numbers too and that something else isn't going on.

Re: 9/20 Achilles AMPS 64 +1 70 +6 74

DH went home for a quick spot check and Achilles gave us a 74 at +6. Sigh of relief.....

I'm so glad we gave him that HC gravy with the LC food today. I don't want to think about how low he could have gone without it. On the other hand, I wonder how high the risk of a hypo is at such a low dose. I take that back -- I don't want to find out!!

DH will pick up Achilles soon and they will have a nice long car ride into Manhattan to see the vet. I hope he doesn't get too stressed out during the car ride -- I hope Achilles does well during the car ride too.

I'll report back tonight.

We're back from the vet. Achilles was such a good boy at the vet. We took our Relion meter with us and his bgs were 99 at the vet. Let's see how clsoe we are to the lab results. DH even gave the vet's assistants a lesson on how to test the ear for BGs. It was awesome. Vet was so impressed by our hard work and Achilles' results to date. We could not have come this far without everyone on FDMB and I made sure the vet knew it. Vet even asked to take a picture with Achilles. It was so cute!
I
We should have blood results by Wednesday. Our main concern are his AST and ALT levels which were elevated when he was diagnosed.

Tonight Achilles got a drop of insulin. In fact, we did a little experimenting with the syringe and it looks like he got a drop this morning too.

So, here's the big question -- do we stay at a drop for a few days or do we start an OTJ trial???? :-D :-D
I have to admit, I'm a bit nervous about the trial. nailbite_smile nailbite_smile I feel like I am back in school worrying about a test.

What an awesome vet visit! I love it when we can educate them, and even more when they want to learn. Just so great!

I can't answer the question - but do wish you guys a great evening!
