Good morning!

We have been doing just fine overall. I do have a question to pose to the group about feeding and middle of the night.

So LM typically gets a snack at +9 which is 330 am/pm. Then amps/pmps is at 630 am/pm. Here lately last couple of weeks. He has been waking up just as annoying as can be at 40 mins to snack and preshots. It is on the dot meowing pawing at me and literally dive bombing the bed at 250 am and 550 am. Now when I say dive bombing I mean jumping on bed jumping on me then diving right back off. He knows he is big and I end up having to get up to sit up and endure his pawing and biting of my ankles for 30 mins. He is truly relentless. In the past I've been able to appease him by petting him and loving on him and he would lay with me waiting to hear his feeder go off for snacks....that has stopped. I'm flat out exhausted I lay back down after each time snack then preshot....but most days after shot it's harder to get back to sleep because I know I have to get up soon to start my day.

Any advice? Has anyone else experienced this. It seems to have gotten worse the better his numbers have gotten. I would've thought it would be better since his body isn't burning through the food.

Have a great day all gonna try to take a nap now maybe get a little one in before +2:blackeye:

Ha, I have a similar problem with Hendrick but not to that extreme.

Ever since we ditched all the kibble and switched the household to regular feeding times, 6am and 6pm....at around 5 to 530 am the alarms start to go off. You know, the feline type?

Hendrick and his brother Shylo don't get quite as aggressive as your boy but they are loud Siamese and Hendrick does this sad "howl-owl-owww....getttttt uppppppp and feed me I'm soooooooo hungry oh woe-is-me!"

So while I'm not sure I have an answer for you I can attest to similar behavior from my sugar boy and his Civvie brother.

The only thing that has prevented this is putting out extra food, with a higher fat content, right before I go to bed. But in your case you're getting up at 330am for a +9 so....oof. That's a tough one!

I'm glad I'm not alone in this. I just would
Love to sleep. I feel like I'm tired all the time and no real opportunity to nap durong the day sonce i work so much. Yeah he is pretty aggressive... Technically I don't need to get up at 330 am he has a feeder but he is up before it goes off waking me up...

Totally relatable! Sometimes I succumb and he gets a snack way too close to shot time but I have a lot of data to back it up and know it’s safe to shoot even if food influenced. This morning Herman was a BEAST. He kneaded my ankles and knees for half an hour. Tried kneading the drooler Stanley who eventually had to abandon the bed out of fear of Herman’s pokey paws. He then slept on my chest with his nose 3 inches from mine (he often bites my nose so I couldn’t sleep because of his intimidation tactics…) finally I fell back asleep, but awoke when I felt him walk a circle around my chest and thighs pushing his paws in deep (I am perpetually covered in bruises!)…finally he got off and bit my forearm and actually broke the skin! A scrape not a puncture…but still! He was purring while he did it! :blackeye::blackeye::blackeye: Cats!

He’s the king of this castle!

I have some of that happening with Bella as well. She sits by the feeder and waits, and starts meowing before it opens. I had it set at 3:30 am as well, I changed it to 3 am and it's working for now, but I guess it will work only until she starts waiting for it earlier. She is not as agressive than Little Man, she just meows from the kitchen, but she can be loud. She also waits all night sitting in front of the feeder, which makes me sad, she acts as if she was starving!

Well clearly this isn't a lone ranger issue! He may end up getting a snack around +4ish at night (1030pm) maybe it'll hold him over a bit longer and make it to the 330am. I do have plenty of data to know how his body works with food...so I guess it'll just have to be ok for my own sanity at this point.

Who knew sugars could be so aggressive about their food...could this be a trait as to why they become sugars?:bookworm: anyway band together my fellow non sleepers...tired as we are we press on :bighug::bighug:

100% our Civvies are just as bad if not worse. Hendrick's brother Shylo is bigger and heavier than him and a very loud Siamese. What a set of pipes on that boy!!

He will do laps around the edge of the bed...walk up behind my head, stop by my ear and belt it out. "Feed me @#$%!"  :blackeye:

And our old lady Roxy is a light 7 pounds but she will walk across your body and put so much weight on those paws it feels like 10 times that much! She definitely does it deliberately if I try to sleep in a little and push feeding time later.

It’s not only sugars. I feed my two 3 times a day and 3 at night. Since Chai got sick and on prednisolone I started feeding a 4th. Mocha needs to lose weight but how can I only feed one cat a snack when she only gets 2 1/3 oz total? Nobody can believe the yelling that goes on when prepping, lol.
Oh I can too...I have to be careful I'm not tripped during prep with all the moving and darting between legs and crying like I starve them and they must be mistreated....le sigh
