eating like crazy yesterday. Guess whatever I gave her wasn't her favorite like today.
Went to a cat show yesterday. Met Izzy's original breeder.
Found Izzy via CFA retired friends. I had seen a Maine Coon on there that was very close to where I live. Turned out that cat was not a good match, but the lady had this kitten that was a return. I think actually she was in exchange for breeding, as the female was owned by the people I met yesterday and the male by the lady I got Izzy from.
Not sure what the story was, but a few years ago I found the web page and sent an email that said...I think I may have one of your cats and listted her full registered name. they were super excited because Izzy was the only kitten out of that litter that they never knew where or what happened to her. The other lady would not divulge who had her....weird.
more to the story (much that I do not know) but since then I email her periodically to tell he how MDK is doing...including this last go 'round. Of course they are ecstatic I have her and am (and have been) willing to go above and beyond typical owners and brought her back from the brink of death twice now
Izzy and one of her sisters that they kept from the original litter are the last 2 surviving members. Her siste is a mere 7lbs! Izzy 11. A far cry from the 2 they had at the show: an 11month old red boy weighing in at 19lbs and a 9 yr old brown classic tabby at 25!
Back when Izzy was born....color not size was the focus. In her prime she was only 13bls. Seeing a 25lb Maine Coon in the flesh was amazing!
