He was 361 on an AlphaTrak 2 at 10 pm so I thought he'd stay up through the night. I tested him at midnight and was surprised to see 144. An hour later he was 108. I gave him a couple spoonfuls of a high carb Friskies indoor to try to level him off and set my clock for an hour. He was 87. I coaxed a few spoonfuls of food into him. He wants to go back to sleep. I don't want him to go lower.

Any thoughts?

Another night, another seemingly strange drop at night. Grandpa stays fairly high through the days, but drops to blues and green at night. We give the same dose for AM and PM so I don't know why the daytime numbers and nighttime numbers are so different or why they drop after the three-hour test comes out high.

I'm afraid to sleep for more than an hour at a time.

From memory and from what I have read , lower numbers overnight are not at all unusual. Same for us people too.

Ty was OK with this AFAIK however some people leave out auto feeders overnight to help with this.

Would be great if we all could come and tag team sweet Grandpa when he pulls these shenanigans so you could get some rest, Beck :bighug: Come on , Grandpa, cut momma a break :bighug::bighug:

I feel the same way. Beta and I will be up for awhile tonight. She also tends to have active cycles at night. She likes the company when I stay up with her I think.

I set the alarm for every hour or two. He falls asleep before I do so I have to wake us both up. At ieast this time he woke up hungry.

He ate pretty well. It wasn't his normal attack the food until everything is gone, but he worked at it slowly for about 30 minutes. I retested (his poor ears) and BG has gone up a little.

I think we're both going to get some sleep.
