still bouncing all over the place. he also has diarrhea for about a week now. new food maybe or does diabetes cause this? giving him fortiflora but so far no luck. anything else i can use for this? he is not dehydrated tho. thanks for your help. also tested with ketone blood meter. he was 0.7 which i think equates to trace?

Oh wow. Poor Tibbs, could it be the food upsetting the tummy?

I know I had one that beef gave him diarrhea and my current tabby coughs when she eats Rabbit. :-|

Hope he feels better soon, and comes back down. :-D

Hi there ~O)

I would thing the meters instruction booklet should have a guide to what the readings mean - that is important information.

Although with my kitties I have never had to deal with diarrhea, many folks here have and hopefully will chime in.
There may be a connection to the new food. It would be helpful to know when the change was made and what the new food is.

Hi. thanks.
he has been on the new food since sep 9.
fancy feast.. all the low carb ones and a little bit of young again zero carb . the meter book does say that 0.7 is the low end of trace. 0.6 is normal or no ketones. and 0.7 to 1.5 is trace. of course it is listed for people so 0.7 is the lowest "bad" reading above normal so i "think" it means trace ketones.

Sorry to hear that your guy has diarrhea! You can try giving him some canned pumpkin (the plain kind, not the pie filling) or baby food squash. Fancy Feast has fish in almost all their flavors, even the chicken, so if he is sensitive to fish, that could be affecting him.

Good suggestions and info from Deanna. Many cats are allergic to fish and that could be causing the problem. I also have no clue what's in Young Again. You might try going back to his "old" food and see if the diarrhea clears up.
