Probably the new food. You can try adding a little plain canned pumpkin (not the pie filling) to his diet and see if that firms things up.

Maybe the diarrhea is being caused by an infection of some sort (ketones usually appear with infections)? Do you have fluids on hand to give him if he needs them?

Hi Nadine,
I am so sorry to hear Tibbsy had developed diarrhea. I cut and pasted the following from the Young Again website, regarding the diet change possibly being the culprit. I can tell you that Noodle also developed pudding-like stools the first several days he was on YA. I even called the company about it and they said it was very common, due to the cat adjusting to high-protein and next to no carbs, especially if they had been having high carbs before. Hope this helps. Fingers crossed for Tibbs.

Christi

Feeding: My cat has loose stools. What's wrong?

" Loose stool caused by a change in diet will generally clear up in 2 to 4 weeks and no treatment is necessary. Sometimes loose stool can be caused by a cat who consumes more of our diet than they should in one sitting. Because our food is nutrient-dense, not all of the food will be digested and the part that is undigested will dilute the fiber that makes the stool solid, causing the stool to appear softer. This is not harmful to your cat and will usually self correct within 4 to 6 weeks. Loose stool can also be caused by an allergy to one or more of the ingredients in the food you're feeding. If after consulting with the company and exploring the various options and reasons for loose stool, it would be advisable to switch to a different diet with a different set of ingredients and see if the loose stool goes away. If the loose stool goes away after switching to a new diet, the likelihood is that you have identified an allergy and you will need to stay on this new diet. "
