Recently my DH had a really hard sprain on one of his ankles. ( total roll)
he was icing it and nursing it and I suddenly remembered I have a hand held infrared device.
So he started using that..... a lot!
he thought his ankle felt better within the first session and continued it all week and he's now back to normal.
Everything I've read on infrared is all good.
I was already thinking about using it on Shadow's hip in hopes that it might provide some pain relief.

I have read a lot on spleen cancers.... and I have to say I am very worried since Shadow already had an infiltrative lipoma on the surface outside
her rib cage.
It sounds like spleen cancers can do the same thing. infiltrate. And having two small spots already .... maybe an mri would show us more.

I'm going to ask about aspirating it and see if that can be done..... that's far less intrusive than exploratory surgery.
But meanwhile, I may try the infrared on her tummy area too.

Am I just grasping at straws?

I have read about the cold laser and how it increases cancer.
The infrared research is that it kills cancer..... cancer doesn't like heat. I figure it's worth a try since I already own the device
and winter is coming....so she's more likely to enjoy the warmth.

It's been a total horrible year for me already.
I'm having a hard time believing there is more such as this.
Can I go hide under the bed?

I don't have any great insight to laser therapy. I tried the cold laser for Buster's arthritis and didn't know it could possibly CAUSE cancer until we were done with the first round. I guess it's a good thing it didn't work. I like that you're thinking outside of the box and trying every angle. You have such a big heart! I hope you can find something to help Shadow. She is one lucky kitty! Hugs from AZ!! :YMHUG:

I don't have any advice on the infrared. I just wanted to send some prayers and hugs to you and Shadow. :YMHUG: :YMHUG: :YMHUG:

I spoke with the vet .... the one who usually helps me with the FD part.

I wanted to ask her about aspirating the spleen. She said it was possible but she didn't recommend it.
It might not give us any real information and Shadow does have the thickened pylorus and small intestine too.
I had already read that intestinal walls can't be aspirated.
She did volunteer that we could remove the spleen but after I thought about it.... that doesn't address the other two .

I am thinking that maybe trying the budesonide..... and my infrared.....
do something rather than nothing....

I know we could lose remission status but I'm betting we were going to anyway.....
I just know in advance since I did the ultrasound.

I do have the labs back.... I will have to get a friend to scan them for me....and post them. hopefully tomorrow night....
I think most all the values were improved slightly.

Does anyone think the buprenorphine is contributing to her woes?
She's still getting ondansetron, ciproheptadine as needed...... vet said use Pepcid ac or ondansetron.....but keep one on board.
And she's still getting the adequan shots every 3 weeks.

thoughts and opinions wanted.....

I don't have answers for you....I wish I did...but I am sending along tons of prayers. If you have to go back on insulin to help Shadow's other issues, that's OK...you're an awesome bean, and fortunately you know how to adjust insulin as needed in relation to other meds and issues - plus you have your LL family behind you :YMHUG: :YMHUG: :YMHUG: !!

I really don't know anything about the infrared in terms of experience with it. And I not sure if the burp could cause her any issues.

Why not just try prednisilone instead of budesonide? The latter is more to address mainly the intestines so I'm not sure if it would help the spleen. She will likely need insulin either way (theoretically). The pred might address a wider array of issues. Just thinking....

Sending a ton of healing vines.
