9/19 Loose Lips- New pictures added

I caught 2feral kitten babies this moring. flip_cat :RAHCAT flip_cat flip_cat :RAHCAT The 3rd one got away, I'm not sure how.

I saw momma had them stashed on our air condtioner pad right by the family room window. So I watched until momma went to the back of the house for breffis #2 on our lanai. I grabbed the bottom tray out of the dog's crate to act as a blockade, a cat carrier and a glove (almost forgot the glove!) I barricaded them to one corner and started snatching! I got the little female grey tortie first, then one of the 2 black ones. Then I went for the 2nd black one and saw he was gone. Then Momma showed up and looked at me and ran off.

So I've got the 2 babies in a dog crate in a spare bedroom. Probably should have left them in the garage today (fleas!) but it's going to be 95 and probably a lot hotter than that in the garage. Tonight DH will help me dawn dish liquid bathe them to kill the fleas and Wednesday (payday) I'll get them to the vet for a checkover.
I'm so elated!! Now to keep from getting permanently attached...

Congratulations on getting those 2, but good luck on becoming permanently attached. :lol: Kittens, both domestic and feral, can always worm their ways into our hearts. :lol: That tortoiseshell sounds adorable!

Sorry Lady - you're already sunk... :-D You became permanently attached when you got so excited about them. Oh babees!

Well done! I hope momma forgives you quickly and lets you capture the other one too. Yes, good luck with that not getting attached. I agree with Lyresa, it's too late. :smile:

Can you use the kittens somehow as bait to catch the mom to do a TNR? I've heard of using the mom as bait to catch the kittens LOL.

What a wonderful update. Those kittens will have such loving lives compared to the hard lives ferals do. Thank you for having such a big heart.

And.... ahem.... where are the pictures????? :mrgreen:

Sorry I haven't been on much. Caught another evil cold. I've been sick more days than I've been well the past two months. I'm tired all the time but having a cold on top of it just wipes me out completely. Coffee just doesn't appeal to me when I'm sick either. Wonder why that is.

Good for you Jaclyn.....and you is already attached!! I'm glad I don't live too close, or I might have to take the tortie.....but yes, I think we need to see pictures!!!! :mrgreen:

Hi everyone

I know I haven't been around much lately. Last week I helped a friend with her garage sale and last night peter tried reformatting our computer only to find out the disk we had would not work so now I'm without a computer until who knows when. Im using my moms laptop right now but will be going home soon.

If I can't get on this week just know that I keep all the kitties and beanz here in my thoughts and prayers. I hope you are all doing good and positive thoughts for those who arent.

Even though it's only been a week without checking in on condos I sure do miss you guys and can't wait to get back here daily!

I can't get an image to upload to I added the url. Not the best picture, they're so scared. I"m going to get them out tonight and cuddle them a little (ok- maybe a lot). The dilute tortie is so pretty, I'll definitely get better pictures of her. Shery- if you're tempted, I can come to you :lol:

We thought about using them as bait, I'm not sure about that. I'll need to research how it's done. The bad part is the 3rd baby is still with her. So if I take her now, he likely won't make it. I really need to wait until I nab him, or he's done nursing.

It says page not found when I click on the link. I see what you mean about catching the mom and the other kitten. Can't wait to hear more about them.

Congrats on catching two of the babies...and I really respect your ability to take on such difficult work! I get so emotional when it comes to these things, so I'm always thankful there are rock solid folks like you out there!!!

The link doesn't work for me, either...but I can't wait to see them!

Sorry - I had the permissions set wrong. You should be able to see them now. DH and I just had them out, both female. Feisty little buggars. THey wanted nothing to do with coming out of that cardboard box! We took the box away and left them towels so they have a reason to wander their dog crate. They're eating great, no LB use yet though. If none by the time I go to bed, I'll stimulate them.

Kittens this age are a ton of work, but it's so rewarding to know they'll have a better life! These two make #4 and #5 I've captured from my yard.

The link also doesn't work for me, unfortunately. You can always try uploading the images to Photobucket and then copy and paste the link. Just a thought. :-D

shoot, i can't see the pics either. my eyes are all set for baby kitters, but all i get is a "page not found" - but you are Awesome to find them a new home! even if it is yours! :lol: that's the most loving home there could ever be!

karrie, i'm so sorry you've been sick so much. that sucks. tea sounds just right - i was going to say chicken soup but i think you're vegetarian, is that right? somehow veggie broth just isn't quite the same. ;-)

I still can't see them - it says no page found. BOOHOOHOO! I wanna see babees.............

EDIT TO ADD: I CAN SEE THE BABEES! Oh so so sweet! The black one's eyes say I'm still terrified but the other says half scared, half curious.

They are so cute! But then it's a survival mechanism, babies being cute like that, because they are so much work. Good luck getting the other baby and the mama.

*gasp* they are adorable! love the eyebrows on the gray one - so expressive. yes, they look scared - you'll be able to win them over. hope you can get the mama and the 3rd baby.

I just tried the link again and saw the kittens -- ohh...they are so adorable. I am looking forward to updates and watching them grow.
