In yesterday's condo, someone suggested increasing since we were at 11 cycles on this dose. I agree and am planning to increase Friday night, as that's when I can monitor.

I have to say... I'm very relieved at the TYPES of cycles we've been having the last few days. I'm confused by the high +2s (100-150pts higher than PS), but the PS#s in both am/pm cycles are looking better. We've avoided major bounces for a few days now, which in my eyes is a HUGE improvement and gives me hope that we'll start getting somewhere now.

We'll be starting a new pen in another week or so - getting low.

It was certainly interesting last night trying to make tomato sauce and get some corn in the freezer with Tink and Tarzan running amok. I was rather proud of myself for processing 14 ears of corn without him getting even one kernel. Finally I win one! Granted, I think he did manage to get a piece of tomato in his mouth, but I got him to drop it. So, I win like one and a half. HAHAHA. These cats sure keep ya on your toes!!

Hi Jen

Well....it's hard to say without some tests afterward. Some cats get substantial food spikes but since he was blue last night, it looks to me like he could have started a bounce. Do you get home from work before PMPS to get an "in the door" test?

Some days I am home early enough for a +11. Others not. But this high +2 seems to be happening frequently (but then doesn't appear to be leading to bounces, like it used to). Each of the last 4 cycles, +2 has been higher. Last night's wasn't MUCH higher (I think it was up 40pts), but the other three cycles showed pretty substantial increases at +2.

I think he's been peeing a lot less than he used to (which is good). He used to pee in my bathroom litterbox every morning, which made it easy to test for ketones. I'm not sure if he's using the main house litter box instead, or what... but I rarely catch him peeing (but he has a good stream when he does). If he uses the main box, by the time I see that he's in it, it's too late to grab a strip and get to him. Even getting to him is likely to require such speed that it may startle him. I suppose I could try leaving some sort of catch container in the area.

I do test whenever I catch him using the box in the bathroom... but I admit it's been awhile at this point. I'll make an effort to get a test in soon.

Sandy is right. His insulin could also be pooping out a little early. But it's just not possible to know until we see the weekend numbers a little more when you are able to get a few more tests. :-D
