Good Morning, Everyone,

We had a much better morning than yesterday! I took Rusty's meter kit under the covers last night and the strips and meter were fine this morning. Rusty's ear was good too. The only thing I would have liked better would be a lower, more Rusty-like number.
It's warmer here this morning (40 degrees) with thick fog. It's supposed to get up into the upper 60s. That's good for the paddle tomorrow. Today we have nothing specific planned. We'll take a walk on the highway this morning, do some paddling if conditions are good, take Rusty outside, etc. Tomorrow we have a full day of paddling with our group. An early start (shuttling cars, because the end of the paddle is 15 miles from the start), a very large lake to cross (Racquette Lake), a river, a 1/2-mile portage to Utawana Lake, a paddle through its outlet to Eagle Lake, and through its outlet to Blue Mt. Lake, where we will have a wine and cheese party on the beach. Then most of the group (all except me) will have a family-style dinner at Hemlock Hall, an old resort on Blue Mt. Lake. But because the time conflicts with Rusty's shot schedule, I will come back to camp and Rusty and I will have dinner together (Edward will go to Hemlock Hall and our friends will drive him back to camp). Since the dinner on Mondays is roast beef, I don't mind skipping it (I'm a vegetarian!).

Back later. We hope everything is fine in LL this morning. Thank you all for your support yesterday. I really needed it!

Hi Kitties: Are you ready for a full day of fishing, paddling, bug chasing, grillin'? It's gonna be warmer today. See you later.

Re: 9/18 Rusty AMPS 185

I just read your condo from yesterday - sitting in Florida (and it's been warm)...I'm a bit jealous of the cabin and camping and snuggling in to stay warm! Of course I'm sorry to hear the lovely temps are playing havoc with his blood vessels. I picture them all curled up too trying to conserve heat!

Hopefully the warmer today will be make it a better today in the FD world!

Re: 9/18 Rusty AMPS 185

Morning! YAY: up to 40, sure beats the 20's from yesterday! I am glad though that the weather is improving for you paddle tomorrow. It sounds like a very good one! What a great day awaits. Enjoy your walk today. I am hoping to get out some too... waiting on the rains to lessen just a little.

Excellent idea on warming the meter and the strips - that would work! I am glad that this morning was a better one for you. Good job Rusty! I hope we see Rusty-like numerbs today. You be a good boy Rusty when your beans take you outside...

Have a great day today - enjoy the beginnings of fall... I so love this time of year.

Re: 9/18 Rusty AMPS 185, +5.5 155, +9.5 123, PMPS 116

Hi again,
We had a lovely day. Edward and I had a good walk this morning. Later we went to the landfill. We paddled on the lake this afternoon, and inbetween we had a lot of outdoor time with Rusty. He had a wonderful time hunting a squirrel. (unsuccessful, but we tell him that the fun is in the chase). He kept trying to get under the cabin but was thwarted every time! His numbers kept coming down all day and we are proud of him.

Tomorrow's weather is looking very good. It will be a long day and Rusty will hold the fort and eat from his automat. Now that he is so interested in the wildlife here, I hope he doesn't try to get through a screen.
We'll be leaving very early, so I won't be posting until the evening.

Hope all is well in LL. Thanks for visiting. Great pic, Celi. Not everyone can be a vegetarian!!

Hey all Kitties. My beans will be out all day tomorrow. Come to camp and we'll have a fun, relaxing day.

Re: 9/18 Rusty PMPS 116, +4 51 (!)

Hi again, again,
PMPS +4: 51, the lowest number of the day (at the time when onset usually is just beginning). And I shot a skinny 1.25 (or a fat 1.00) instead of 1.25 both this morning and this evening. Is this the infamous Lev. late nadir, 4 hours into the next cycle? (the pattern that results from the dose being too high?) I guess I'll be up a bit later than planned tonight. I sure hope we'll be able to go on the big paddle tomorrow. It's one of the highlights of the season.
I gave Rusty his usual bedtime snack of FF T&G (which tends to raise his bgs). I haven't set out his nighttime food yet. Will test again in about 20 minutes and decide whether it is safe to go to bed (it will be +5).

Back in a bit,

Ella & Rusty

Re: 9/18 Rusty PMPS 116, +4 51 (!)

(((Ella))): Rusty is looking really good tonight!!!! I have to laugh about the infamous lev late nadir from too much juice....seems to be going around

Thank you so much for your wonderful post on our condo. You all are very special to us.....opening your heart to another diabetic kitty....that is amazing to us. I'm glad you and Edward had a lovely day and walk and I hope tomorrow is perfect for your paddle.

Tobey already left for Camp Stu. He said if he gets there before the other cats, maybe he'll get 4 cinnamon cupcakes instead of two
