232. Not all that bad. He's bright and chipper, finished his breakfast in no time flat, and... well, he's being a kitty menace, as per usual. "Myaa! Myaa! Myaa!".

I'll come back later - time to feed John-Finn.

Hi Bee!

I just saw the new kitty pic of John-Finn from last nite! He is beautiful!!

Re: 9/18 Rufus AMPS 232

Good luck today...that meeting in the hallway yesterday sounded promising! Nice low yellow AMPS for Rufus this morning...
I bet you will see a green or two again today!
Are you still awake at +4? You might see more of a drop if you either do the test at +3.5 as you said, or the +4...
Let us know how it goes today, k?

Re: 9/18 Rufus AMPS 232, +8 146

146 at +8! If you're wondering why I didn't have any spot checks in the early hours, and missed +7... Well, that's because I was at the vet! Otherwise, I'd tell you all about Rufus' day.

Our meeting was a pretty good success! There was a little "Rrr, I'm not very happy" kind of stuff happening, but Rufus only once "advanced" on John-Finn. My little guy fell onto his back in a defensive posture and Rufus backed off immediately. He then sat down across from him on a rug and both of them settled down. I think Rufus is beginning to understand that he's The Big Cat and is allowed to set the rules. (He still cries when John-Finn approaches him, though).

John-Finn is now back in his room, where he will still be housed until Rufus stops crying (and Winnie stops barking... in the wrong direction).

John-Finn began coughing pretty hard when my sister came over to meet (and cuddle) him. Called the vet's office and they said they could squeeze us in. Coughing may be minor enough, but the last thing we needed was a trip to the ER because we didn't jump on it before it turned into something nastier.

After being thoroughly examined (and X-rayed) it was determined that he had no foreign objects irritating his pallet (i.e. a needle that our vet had seen in another cat once-upon-a-time), and that it was, most likely, a minor bug. We were given some Clavamox for the cough, and Gentamicin(?) to help along that infection he had while he was being fostered. Going to begin giving those at dinnertime.

That's the story of our afternoon thus far.

Re: 9/18 Rufus AMPS 232, +8 146, +10 141 :)

Heeey, 141 on a rise! Nice one, Rufus. Hopefully he won't leap tall buildings in a single bound before dinner. Out to get more treats for the furry ones! (I wonder if they make those Wellness treats in a "Big Honkin'" size).

Re: 9/18 Rufus AMPS 232... PMPS 178

PMPS 178. With new treats on board, that may have been the fastest test we ever took. (He was VERY impatient toward the end, and I had to struggle a little bit to keep him still just so I could wick up the blood). Time for food, shot, and medicine!
