9/18 Peeps AMPS: 446 PMPS: 428 Time to up dosage?

I believe tonight is the second night in a row that Peeps has specifically asked for her shot. She could be doing this in the morning also, but I'm only upright for about 15 minutes before her am shot. I'm not mentally awake for about 2 hours post am shot.

Should I try a second dosage increase? I'm not happy with her mid 400's. The mid-day 256 a few days ago I think is due to the roast beef snack she got out of me. She is free-fed. Or should I try to get a few more spot checks in there? I see I've been slacking for the last few days. Both of her ears were bruised from the first few days of insulin and my shaky hands. I don't deserve such a sweet cat that barely PEEPS when she gets stabbed a few times in a row due to her stupid human.

Also, if it is time for an increase - earlier there were comments about .1 increases. How do you figure a .1 increase?

I agree, you've held the dose long enough. Do you have U100 syringes with 1/2 unit markings? And do you have the conversion chart?

The .1 increases are more for when you have much lower numbers. With the U100 syringes the increases go up by .2's so I think you could go to 1.4 units.
 
Ok, you could try to eyeball a 1.5u by drawing the insulin to half way between 1 & 2 units.

I went to the dollar store and got a pair of strong reading glasses, +3 I think, and they really help.
 
LOL oops!

I did what I'm calling a .25 shot. I usually fill 1u so the head of the ends of the plunger is directly on the "bottom" of the 1u line. It just gives me a base. So this morning I moved it so it was touching the "top" of the line. It's not really a quarter shot, but I won't be able to do anything but a half shot after this if I bump her up again. Should I just go 1.5 for tonight then?
 
Peeps got bumped up twice today. Our goal is going to be to get some readings under the 200 mark. Sometimes it helps me to see a graph versus just numbers that should be on a graph.

She didn't come and nag me for her shot tonight, she just laid on the bed purring in my general direction. She stopped when she saw me coming with the little black bag of bleedyness, but she does resume purring after the bleeding part is done. We're going to get there soon!!
