Just a quick note to let you know I'm alive!.....and so is China!! (her spreadsheet has her numbers from the vet today)

Poor girl lost another tooth...Tooth fairy will be by later!!

I'm a little peeved at the vet (actually, I'm a lot peeved)….I specifically said that I couldn't afford for them to use their AlphaTrak meter to check her glucose and took our meter and supplies in for them to use. I've explained the "difference" to them several times.....they didn't touch it and they didn't even call to tell me they were going to use their AT......but they were more than happy to bill me for it!!

Then on the "take home instructions" (which I didn't read well until I got home) she says "she has several teeth being absorbed, so we'll see how many she has left next time"....Excuse me?? If they are being absorbed, shouldn't you have gotten rid of them today??

Then they gave her that same shot they gave her a couple years ago that made her act like she was seeing some giant alien creature chasing her around for 2 days and only 2 doses of bupe to take home. I asked for more and she comes out and says "I didn't give you much because of the way she reacted that one time"....It was the SHOT, not the oral bupe that did that!! Try reading your da*n notes!!

Tonight, for the first time ever, she's not eating after her dental. She acts like she's hungry, but just sniffs and walks away. I'm going to give her a little while longer and then maybe try something for nausea. She has always eaten as soon as she came home....even when she lost 8 teeth!....so this has me a little worried.

As for me, I'm still here but I feel like I've run a 4 minute mile (which I guess is what my heart thinks!)…..they took my pulse up to 167 beats per minute and took a bunch of ultrasound pictures. Probably be a day or three before I hear from the doctor if they found anything, but nobody seemed concerned.

I'm beat and I'm going to try to take it easy tonight and worry about China.

I'm sorry things were so stressful with the vet. I hope China will feel like eating soon. I hope you get good test results back for yourself. Sending prayers. :bighug::bighug::bighug:
 
I'm with you on the what, why, huh at the vet. They know you can't afford extra expenses like charging you for their meter. I think I would at least try speaking directly to the vet to get that charge removed. And I went thru that too on , why didn't you take the future teeth?
Resorptive lesions sure don't even improve, only worsen. Sigh....

At least it's over, so breathe, try to relax.... adult beverage or chocolate or something to celebrate her successful surgery.
Eat China....
 
Glad to see this update Chris! Sorry that your vet would not listen to you but glad that China did okay. Glad that you got through the test also and hope for good results.
 
I'm sorry they bungled at the vet visit today, it was a enough of a day without the extras. I sure hope China rests up and feels like eating later. I also hope you get some rest and relaxation tonight. That's quite a high pulse rate, wowsa! I'm glad that's over for you, and I hope this test provides some good information. You are important and they need to figure out how to help you better!

That’s just absurd that your vet did exactly the opposite of what you told her. I’m so sorry and I hope China will eat. I hope you didn’t pay the AT charges.

Glad you both came through without incident. Olive has I think 2 absorbed teeth. Dr said they were to far in to do anything. They would have to drill into the jaw to get to them. He thought it was safer for her to leave them alone. Don't know how they decide that.
 
Vines for China to recover quickly and have an appy soon.

Glad to hear your heart didn't beat right out of your chest. Hope you get some answers there as well.
 
Everybody else has said it all. Demand a refund. I would. I hope China eats tonight. FWIW Max didn’t eat after his last dental. I remember I had to skip insulin that night. I hope you have a stress free night.
 
I'm with the others that said don't pay for the AT charges. You did not approve them, so you should not have to pay for them.

I'm glad they weren't "concerned" about your test. I suggest that means you shouldn't be, either. Easy for me to say, huh?

Ugh on the vet, for so many reasons. I also agree to argue that charge for them using the AT! I hope China is feeling better today...recovery vines for her, and good news vines for you...
 
Sorry the vet didn't listen. I hope by now China is feeling better and eating! I hope you have some answers on your tests soon!
 
Glad to hear that all is generally ok with both of you. I hope China gets her appetite back after that stressful visit.
