Good evening,

we saw some few high blue numbers last night and today. Happy about the improvement but confused, that she was doing so much better on 1.75 IU than on 2 IU.

I think today was a good day for Binie and she was really well. She started the day, being her old self again and was biting my leg because I didn't got up fast enough to serve her breakfast. I never before thought I would be happy that she is biting me but I recognized that she stopped this behavior when she became sick. The day was nice and sunny and she was able to stay on the terrace all day. Now she went to bed and is already snoring.

Tomorrow is day seven without antibiotics. I will see if I can catch some urine during the day to bring it to the vet in the afternoon. At the beginning of the next week we will know more.

Hope everyone has a relaxed day! :bighug::bighug::bighug:

Hi Heike, I’m happy to hear Binie enjoyed herself in the sun today. I know she loves her terrace.
I can imagine her biting your leg to get you moving for breakfast. That’s a good sign of her old self coming through :)

Hopefully you will see some more blues soon. It’s time for your pair of patience pants. lol. :p
She may be recalibrating as her depot is building on this dose.

I hope you have good success with the urine sample. Tell Binie to be a good girl and pee in the cup:cat:

Wishing you both a calm night and maybe some safe :D

Thank you so much Staci! Recalibrating sounds great. :) I think tonight we will see no blue or even green numbers. Seems she is bouncing.

I am quite confident we will manage with the urine. Last time it was easier than I thought. I just hope she doesn't pee tomorrow while I am in an online meeting. My co-workers are quite tolerant if it comes to Binie but maybe hanging up because she wants to pee is a little too much. :) If I don't manage during the day I will try in the morning. Usually she pees in the early morning hours and last time I used a motion detector to wake me up when she was heading in the direction of the toilet.

I hope you have a relaxed afternoon and evening and a calm night! :bighug::bighug::bighug:

Hi Heike,
Im so glad Binie is feeling better and has had some blue! I know you’ll get her urine, I’m in awe of anyone who can get their cat to pee in a cup. I have to negotiate with mine to just use the box with no sorb in it.
I see on your spreadsheet you give B vitamins…is that every day? Methos is getting B12 shots right now once a week (two more weeks to go) and it’s probably coincidence but whatever insulin shot happens 36-48 hours after his b12 shot always works much better (to me alarmingly better). Which makes no sense and is probably just a coincidence but I’ll be ready for it after his next shot just in case.

good luck with the cup!

Hi Colleen,
thank you for checking on us! It is actually cobalamin b12 combined with folate as capsules. She should get it every second day but I have to admit, that now and then I forget or give it two days in a row. So interesting you see an influence on Methos curve! I googled it and it definitely makes sense:
https://www.mdpi.com/1422-0067/24/20/15217

I was very surprised I managed to catch her urine in a cup too! In the past I always used this super expensive medical litter and sometimes it was not so easy to convince her to pee on that strange litter. And I spent ages on cleaning the litter box and make everything sterile.

I hope Tammuz and Methos are well! Hope you have a nice evening! :bighug::bighug::bighug:

yeah, my boys look at the No Sorb litter like “what fresh new hell is this” and I find the plastic pellets everywhere for weeks.

I was blissfully ignorant today when what should be his nadir was 200. His pmps was 115. I panicked and gave him dinner then called my vet, who promises if I don’t give him insulin his numbers won’t go much lower. :nailbiting:

She also made me promise only low carb food unless he hits 80
:nailbiting:

she reluctantly agreed I could check him in an hour. And it’s down to 3U in the am. So another sleepless night for me. I haven’t read the link I will as soon as I’ve poked his poor ear

edit: I know everyone here is “yay shoot at green” and i had promised myself if i had blue again I’d give 3 but i just can’t. I couldn’t wait to retest I just fed him

Hi Colleen,

what a ride.... I'm sure that was exhausting. Let's wait what Wendy or the other experts say about it. I am curious too. Sounds like your vet is really caring, happy to hear that!

Hhhh...and I know how it is to find these stupid platic pallets in the whole appartement. Same here! :)

I send you a hug! :bighug::bighug::bighug:

So today Binie gets blue ! Yay!!

I am beyond grateful for my vet. This is a small rural town so they care for animals great and small, but in the clinic she does the cats, her colleague does the ultrasounds and they split up the rest. I’m sure her colleague is glad Dr K is stuck with me. She’s so patient and reassuring, I couldn’t have made it without her.

Hi Colleen, so happy your vet is a specialist for cats. Mine is too. And I am sure she likes working with you because you care so much for your cats and you have a great understanding for these complex disease, being a physician. Safe surfing today! :bighug::bighug::bighug:

I’m sorry Binie traded blue for pink today. How is she and how are you doing?
