Hello LL!!

Yesterday's condo: viewtopic.php?f=9&t=125470

Thank you so much to everyone who stopped by to offer thoughts and kind words on my travel plans/my anxiety about traveling. I really appreciate it from the bottom of my heart. I am feeling a lot better about the trip today, and looking forward to it rather than freaking out about it for now at least!

Billie's AMPS was actually 200, but I'm calling it 199 because I like seeing blue on her spreadsheet! It looks like we're in for a nice cycle today.

Billie's coughing was not as bad last night into this morning. She still coughed a few times, but the fits did not last as long as they have been lasting. Now, literally every time I have said something about her cough getting better, she has had a bad fit like 10 minutes later. But, I'm too stubborn to not be optimistic. So, antijinx!!!

DB is getting the full Billie tutorial later tonight. We'll see how he does!

Sending vines to all the cats and beans in need of vines.

On the World version of the SS, 200 is blue. ;-) Good luck with the DB training tonight.

Re: 9/18 Billie PMPS 112 +1.25 155

Thank you Wendy!!

DB training part 1 went well. He didn't practice poking (to be continued tomorrow), but he watched me do everything and practiced drawing the insulin, getting rid of bubbles, and letting drops out until he got to the right dose. Of course, when he was one drop away from the right dose, he pushed a little too hard and all the insulin went shooting out all over the bathroom mirror. I can't even count how many times that has happened to me, especially in the beginning.

Billie is looking great numberwise tonight! Wow! I was expecting a bounce by now. If she has two great cycles in a row, that would be so wonderful. She is batting her favorite toy around right now, so she must be feeling pretty good.

I got my kitty surveillance cameras in the mail today and set them up! The quality is not great, but they will do the trick for me.

Brooklyn has a weird lump on her chin that I discovered while giving her scratchies tonight. I would be worried, but it feels the same as the lumps that she had back in June - she had a couple pop up on one side of her neck. I got one biopsied, and it came back looking like inflammation/allergic reaction of some sort. They disappeared after a week or two, and then a couple more popped up on her shoulder, then disappeared a week or so after that. So, I'm just going to keep an eye on it, and DB knows to keep an eye on it while I'm gone.

I hope everyone is having a nice night!

Re: 9/18 Billie PMPS 112 +1.25 155

I had a cat that got white or pink bumps on her chin and was told it was feline acne. I shudder every time I think about how the vet I was using treated it (prednisone and baytil) as that was rather severe. Still the pred gave her an appetite and hid her subsequent lung cancer so it wasn't all bad. People told me it was from using plastic plates but I stopped that and she still got them from time to time. I hope it goes away on its own.

Nice numbers for Billie tonight. I hope she slides down for you.

Thanks Elise! It looks like Billie is coming back down or at least staying flat, which is also cool. I forgot that kitties can get acne too. I'll have to look that up. I'm hoping this is the same as whatever Brooklyn had going on a few months ago and not something else. The vet thought it was some kind of weird allergic reaction, but it came and went and didn't seem to bother her, so we didn't really investigate it.

Billie is officially liking the Evo venison (her novel protein)! I won't say she's loving it, but she's at least liking it enough to eat pretty well, especially with a spoonful of pork broth (also novel) and some fortiflora mixed in.

Beautiful cycle for Billie today, hope she continues to surf safely tonight, with no new hives or coughing fits! Best of luck with the DB training- what a good guy! My middle sister is an RN and she can't bring herself to test her kitty's BG, so apparently, just because one graduates from nursing school doesn't mean they are a natural at testing.

Oh good. I'm glad you're going on your trip. DB will do fine...and so will the kitters. (But I love the idea of the camera. How cool.) I left Polly for two nights back in August; my pet sitter came in a couple times a day, would shoot but Polly's too evasive to let anyone test. Friends came in to check on them during the day and early evening. All went well, with excellent advice from LL folks.

And I'm glad your specialist had some answers for you. Lots of wishes for a successful food trial. But allergies are indeed tough. Once figured out, quite manageable but the figuring can be trying! Pork!!! My cats fight for it. I had a little guy that would get the low-throat growls if pork was involved. Brought out the beast in him.

Sending lots of vines ...

Thanks Ruth and Marilyn!! Billie is surfing so nicely tonight! I'm really happy for her and I hope it keeps up. This is the first time we've had green two cycles in a row since July! Yes, pork is the new favorite around here. I'm glad there is something that can fill the cheese shaped void in Billie's heart.
