Morning LL! Thank you so much for your dear kind words for Moonie & her new challenge
Hyperthyroidism--
* Hyperthyroid Symptoms FYI--eating a lot & still losing weight,increased water intake, Loss of muscle mass, hyperactivity,listlessness, panting,diahrrea, vomiting, & enlarged thyroid glands.
I noticed the weight loss about 3-4 wks ago, & saw her leg muscles looked skinny & atrophic..
She was trying to get me into the BR to lay with her on the bed, all morning every morning, instead of her regular sleeping behavior... It was just a gut feeling, with symptoms telling the tale.

Glad we pinpointed it, and as I say, better to know what you are facing...She has made my world so happy, the least I can do is the same for her..

So during my passed out evening from tiredness from the fair yesterday, she must have dropped some during the evening!--Guess today is a little bounce up..

I could not have gotten through last few days without you! But I wanted to hear from my own vet, not an associate--
So today is day 1 of hyper T! Heck I am even going to do my SS today!! May need help with my profile!!

She is off to a great start today - is it really nice to see her consistently in the lower numbers. Well done Moonie!

I am so impressed and happy that you caught the hyper-t early to get treatment started.
I too admire your upbeat attitude. I have no doubt you will keep Miss Moonie well regulated and a happy healthy kitty. :-D

Hi guys .. wow, didn't realize moonie was diagnosed with hyper T .. It seems as though you caught it very early and I have no doubt moonie will do just fine with her treatment .. the amps this morning brings a smile to my face! Have a great day guys!

Nice day for the Moons...She seems fine today...eating happy & awake..hope the meds will make her a little more peaceful...Spoke to vet's office & they advised she will be getting 2.5mg once a day..from vet.pharm. of America--I am sure I can get it cheaper, but let's see how she reacts to it...Hopei it will work well.
2 months supply is $33.56, so not so bad..

Moonie got a green today :mrgreen: -Things are looking up :roll: :lol: :lol:

:YMHUG: :YMHUG: :YMHUG: Roni! sorry to hear about the hyper-T, but you can handle it, Good job on the early catch. I think I'd go w/ the transdermal too, much easier than pills! :roll: . Let Moonie convince you to nap with her today, you deserve it!

Moonie has made a very nice recovery from last night. That green :mrgreen: is pretty to see on her.

:YMHUG: to you Roni and scritches to Moonie on the hyperT Dx. You are such a great bean to catch it so early. I'm sure she'll continue to make you happy for a long time yet.

Hi Roni, thanks for listing the symptoms. I was interested to know how you recognized it as Hyper-T, as you were right on top of it, being the wonderful Bean you are to Moonie. She is one lucky kitty to have you as her Bean. Her numbers are looking great today, too. Hugs and scritches from us. Thanks for the Vetty vines for Moonie's pal, Maggie.

What a good catch on Moonie's changes and how great to get on this early. The transdermal gel sounds like a godsend over a pill or a needle. Wonder if we can come up with transdermal insulin! :lol:

Good numbers for Moonie today. Nice to see that green at +3. I'm sure Moonie will do fine on the Hyper T medicine, especially with you watching out for her.

It is great that you caught this so early. She is your princess and you are so attuned to any slight change. You're a great great bean Roni. Hugs to you my friend. Of course she got me to sleep with her in the BR, but I could also see she was a little hyper & listless..She did sleep peacefully later today- Saw that hyper behavior today for the first time..OK!
Just waiting for the meds now so she can have some relief & to try again to get on to the yahoo hyper t group..

Went to our cousin's for the Holiday tonite..Had a great time, came home & she was glad to see me--I;ll be home mostly all day & night tomorrow, should make her feel better--Love her so.............

Lots of vines that Moonie's med will make her feel so much better when you get it started. It usually takes 2-4 weeks to see changes especially in numbers.

I'm glad you have tomorrow to spend with her and give her your wonderful mommy love!!

Lovely green day for Ms Moonie. I'm a bit sorry to hear the diagnosis but as you were saying the other day this is better than some of the other options and it is great you can treat it transdermaly so on the other hand I'm a bit happy it wasn't a worse diagnosis. I was too scared to look yesterday I was a bit down already and thought it would break me if it was very very bad news. Many hugs to you Roni and extra scritches for your beloved Moonie. She is so lucky to have you :mrgreen: you guys are going to rock it :mrgreen: :mrgreen: :mrgreen:
