Shadow has had her breffis and B12. LB duties perfomed. 4/5 P's, playing is infrequent but she played with a catnip-laced fishing pole last night when the hubz got home. (She can always work him for catnip. ) So cute. She starts out each morning OK with testing, a good sport about it. But by the end of the day, it is a different story, so I have taken to offering bits of dehydrated chicken at testing time. Hoping for less of those low rumbles of irritation at the evening tests. Time will tell.

even though you have the fat taken off your dose, do you think you will be going to those low greens again today girl?
Maybe you will...eh?

Do you give Shadow snacks in the mornings Kim? a little LC during the cycle will help keep her surfing ...

Hi Pat - We always appreciate your careful attention. Another reason I love it here. My mind was already on what errands I need to run today, so thanks for reminding me to be alert on the low green thing. I will do a snack, what time you reckon? I have to be away from the house for about 3 hours today but I can flexible as to timing. I like to be here around onset - +3-4 - that's usually her first drop. Hey, that reminds me - terminology question? nadir vs onset. I call that first drop in BG "onset" but others call it early nadir - which is the correct term? We hate to sound like "hicks from the sticks." ;-)

OK, thinking about this, in my mind, her 12 hr cycles are so different, I don't think of applying the same "tricks" in the morning as I do in the evening. In the evening she gets a very small snack of LC at +1, +2, +3 and then when I test her next, she's usually safe for me to go to bed. I'll do that this morning.

thanks guys. If she makes a habit of these numbers, I need to learn to think ahead like that. When they run high all the time, you don't think about that sort of stuff.
