Trying out some online calculators and wondering if anyone has a recommendation.
Hi,
It looks like the calculator there only calculates calories per 100g or ounce. But we usually take the calculation a step further and compare on 'percentage of calories' basis.
This calculator (linked below) will do that for you. :)

...However...for those in the US one of the issues is getting the best data to do the calculation with... In the US food labelling is usually only shown as 'guaranteed analysis', which just guarantees minimum/maximum values for protein, fat, moisture, etc. But it doesn't tell you what that data really is at any given time. And we want to know what the average values are, what's 'typically' in the product. And for that we need the typical nutrient analysis. (In Europe we're lucky, and this is the norm...)
Sometimes the typical analysis will be on the manufacturer's website, and - rarely - some will even state what the percentage of calories is (hurrah!).... Sometimes though it's necessary to message the manufacturer for the average or typical values.

If you can 'only' get the GA analysis, then you can still do a calculation with that, but it just won't be as accurate...
For that reason it's also important to check the ingredients list for any carb sources, and take that into account too.
Ultimately though, 'the proof of the pudding is in the eating' and it's about how any food affects 'our' cat.
