So we have a new super sweet foster kitty. Chris Farley is a dashing front declawed boy of 6-7yrs who loves to sit on your chest and mush-face with you :lol:
His foster mom (me) and dad and very happy because a different vet with a different shelter than the last FD foster, and we got Vetsulin to start with :cry: After a few days of what I called a rousing game of chutes-n-ladders on that stuff, one of the other directors brought in her extra bottle of lantus and I am totally shocked and HAPPY that his numbers look wonderful after switching him to lantus last night. They aren't green but I didn't expect to really see any action until lantus had a few days to settle. But his numbers are very promising and I am doing a happy happy dance. dancing_cat
Chris was just switched from dry Science Diet to wet food the night before we brought him home. I stopped by the shelter and found they still had it in his kennel :YMSIGH: and got it out of there to give him a little head start on the food change.
We do still have our last diabetic foster Cecil with us waiting for a forever home. He's maintained good numbers despite being a naughty food thief and getting into things he shouldn't from time to time. We also have another foster from that shelter here because I brought him home for a little break from the kennel and he loves Cecil so much I don't have the heart to split them up! So we are a FULL house here, haha.
