Wow, I haven't seen a +6 that high since the end of last month. Really kicking myself for sleeping through her +2, I would've loved to get that number for more info. Is the dose too high now? She was doing so well. Some help with figuring out what is going on would be great, thanks.

I'm not sure why you think the dose may be too high. There's nothing to suggest this is the case.

This looks like a bounce or NDW. It could also be a high before a break.

So shot time rolled around, the cats were getting along fine, Tip was okay with the syringe, but the moment I actually injected the insulin, she jumped. I'm still injecting in to the scruff of the neck, sadly. She won't let me touch her hips, so I'm not sure if that'll be okay to use. I don't think I'm getting muscle, because then wouldn't she show that when I stick her with the needle? I think I'll need to look at how to inject insulin again to make sure my technique is still correct....

Any suggestions or explanations as to what's going on would be great, thanks.

Thanks, yeah, it helps a bit. i think it's with how I'm pulling up on the scruff.

Can't remember if you are one that I've told or not but if you are tenting maybe try rolling.

I pick up Gracie's fur and skin with my left hand...I'm right handed. Then I roll my left hand back so the back of my hand is facing the back of her head. This will cause the skin to be better exposed so you can reslly see skin when you put the needle in. I don't touch the plunger until the needle is all the way in (I use short needles). I press the plunger, count to ten, and then pull it out without letting up on the pressure on the plunger.

High before a break is the higher number that some kitties get right before they clear the bounce.

Or, a high may be an inexplicably high number that occurs before you have an active cycle.

And Tip is deciding to drop really fast. ): I've been feeding her low carb after each test, it seems like she isn't wanting to eat this time though. Think she'll be fine from the big drop tonight?

Why don't you get a +6 and also a +11 so you can see if she continues to drop tonight and where she might be at AMPS, respectively. She has a long way to come down.

I can get a +6, the +11 is questionable, though probably do-able. Just getting up an hour early.

Seems she had her nadir an hour early at +5, I tested her and she came up as 308. Should I still get a +11?

If you are up, it's a good number to get but if she is not dropping, it's ok to not get it.

Alright. I'm going to go ahead and get some sleep. If I get the +11, it'll be added in to tomorrows condo.
