Good morning LL peeps & kitties!

I'm exhausted. Spent way too much time on the computer last night (got sucked into FDMB late in the evening. :sad: yet :smile: ) Anyways, Shasta is up to her I don't want to eat unless you hold my bowl for me and keep adding the yummy stuff to it ways. I did buy some FF Florentine flavors this morning at Walmart. I have a few errands to run in a bit...Target, Publix, and Pet Supermarkets...where I will check out some of the other flavors that Rhiannon recommended. Hopefully, I can find something that she and I won't butt heads over!!!! She's napping right now (well, one eye open napping!) And the more I think about it...the more I think now would be a good time for me to nap, too! Talk to everyone later!

AMPS=224 (10% w/ Fortiflora - .55oz)
+1=205 (10% w/ 12% Friskies & 4% FF)
+2=126 (3% snack)
+3=80 (3% snack)
+4=62 (same 3% snack from +3)

PMPS=255 (10% w/ leftovers from last night; 4% added to entice appy along w/ fortiflora - .55oz)
+1=173 (anal sac express; .40 oz of new 10% FF elegant medley Turkey; ate so fast I had to add .55oz!!!!!)
+2=159 (3% snack - ate some)
+3=77 (2% snack; vaseline w/ Purebites shreds)
+4=51 (happily eating 2% snack...2nd helping!)
+5=70 (refilled her 2% snack)

With that +3 and the speed of the drop, I hope you gave Shasta some LC food and set an alarm for the next test. I might consider testing at +3.5.

Any BG update, Deborah? That's a pretty decent drop there each hour... Look at Shasta go!

Hope you didn't find my little quip about Shasta's "facials" (in Karre's latest condo) obnoxious :mrgreen:

Sienne & Jane, sorry I didn't respond. Every time I sat time to type, I get distracted. Like just now, I started this post about 15 minutes ago and then I had to hold Shasta's bowl for her and I remembered I had laundry to get out of the dryer... the list goes on! Now, I need to cook dinner. I promise I was monitoring her!!!! Since she ate at +2 and +3 (granted they were just snacks of 3%), I was figuring that was going to help slow her down...been kind of working that was the past few nights. But I really was monitoring!!!!! Thanks for checking in on us. I always welcome advice, help and suggestions.

Ok, I need to go feed horses. This post just got interrupted once more for an anal sac expressing! (+1) UGH! and what do you know, her BG dropped?!

Thanks Rhiannon, Deb & Liz! She did really well today...well, until tonight and her butt scootin'. And trying to express/expel them tonight was a battle of epic proportions! I'm afraid that either 1. one of them is impacted or 2. she's always had anal sac problems but now that I've taken her off dry food - she will forever have problems now. :roll: What surprised me most was that he BG was not really affected by our battle. Maybe it hadn't had time to truly affect her BG?

She did LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the Fancy Feast Florentine Turkey. I gave her .40 oz to start with and she absolutely cleaned her plate, so I gave her .55oz more. I may have given her too many carbs tonight and therefore may not see greens tonight, but we're always happy with blues, too! ;-)

Wow, if this yellow was a bounce from her AM greens, she's clearing it right away to blue. Poor baby and the anal sac issue. Zener goes to the vetty Tuesday for a check on his. You are amazing doing this yourself! Wow! :o

haha...forget the blues...we're back in the greens! :mrgreen: She's been "relatively" consistent with her yellow pre-shots, fairly quick drop to blues by +2 and while I'm home I haven't been trying to stuff her with mid-carb to even out her curve; therefore, we're seeing greens by +3 (ish). Tomorrow, I'll go back to packing in the carbs for her +2, +3 snacks so that she doesn't have these big drops while I'm at work.

Yeah, I don't suggest that anyone try the anal sac expression alone...with a nasty, evil kitty! I'm still alive, but it was a little more traumatizing than last time. I really need to get in with a new vet. I just need my schedule to ease up a bit in order to make an appointment. I have been told that the vet nearest my house (>5 minutes from house) will schedule an appointment on a Saturday and should meet with me first to talk through my concerns, etc. I just need to find an open day in my schedule and then call and make an appointment.

Someone needs to hurry up and figure out how to clone adult hoomins! I need about 3 of me!!!!

I am so glad that she liked the Elegant Medleys - YAY! I hope it continues to be a fav with her. What a relief, huh!

I agree, Michelle! Granted, this jingle doesn't exactly fit the situation in its entirety, but ...
PLOP, PLOP, FIZZ, FIZZ, OH WHAT A RELIEF IT IS!!!! :YMSIGH: (<- happy sigh)

Now, will she like it in the morning...from the fridge?! hmmmm.... We shall see...

haha...she tells me lots of things...most of which I'm not allowed to repeat!!! haha_smiley

I'm still not 100% convinced she's really ready for any type of reduction. I think it's more a matter of her not liking her dinner. She'll get to a reduction sooner or later...just not while I'm at work or away. Please, Shasta?!

BTW, please don't be fooled by the geriatrics sticker on her medical file...there's nothing geriatric about her when your dealing with her anal sacs. I just thought about how rough I was having to be with her, but dang if she wasn't kickin' my butt. I'm sure she's going to be sore for the next few days...about as long as my scratches take to heal! :lol:
