Good morning, LL! ☼☼☼
Sending healing vines to my hero, Jupe ♥ and all others in need today.

Ripley is doing great today    .
Good appy, PDLB (Public Display of Litter Box, #1 and #2), and squawky.
For the first time in a month she went into the 60s last night  .
And for the first time ever, I noticed a tiny drop of blood at the end of the syringe after her shot this morning. I wonder if I hit a capillary or something. She seemed ok, so I'm not stressing (anymore). You'd think that after countless ear-prick blood droplets, I wouldn't be alarmed at the sight of a teensy drop at the end of the needle this one time  .

Thanks for the visit last night, Marje ~ thanks for the reminder that there are always inexpensive options for Ripley's hatwear ;-) .

Morning Josie,
Stopping by to say hi to you and your sweet girl. Thanks for my Ripples fix and laugh today. I always get a kick out of Ripley's Public Display of #1 and #2 and her squawks. Love her morning  What a sweet girl. She is doing great as always. Have a great day.

Re: 9/16 Ripley AMPS 88

Hi Josie. Awesome start of the day for Ripley. Whenever I read your PDLB it remines me of a military acronym PDA which means Public Display of Affection and I chuckle because I guess PDLB is one way kitty shows affection  .

Have a great day Josie.

Hi Josie! Just stopping by to say hello! Great numbers for Ripley and I'm glad she was so squawky this morning. My cats are like their mom - NOT morning people. We all look tired and grumpy in the morning! Great start for you today. Hope you have a great day!

Re: 9/16 Ripley AMPS 88, +9 80

Thanks so much for the visits today, Melissa, ((Ann)), Mary, ((Barb)), John, Dara, and Carla! :YMHUG:

In a few minutes I'm taking Ripples to the vet for a check-up, bloodwork, and urinalysis. I don't have any concerns, it's just time for her every-3-month-exam to check her kidneys, to make sure there's no UTI a-brewin', and general health.

I just had a talk with her, explaining the trip, and reminded her that the vet is only a 3-minute car ride.
There's a pee-pad in her carrier, along with a spritz of Feliway, and I just included a drop of Holly in her Pepcid treat (helps to relieve tension).

I'm sure she'll do fine; she usually just sticks her head in my armpit during her exams anyway ~ the vet and techs joke about her being an ostrich-kitty, and say things like "I can still see you, Ripley." Poor baby.

She's so dang cute cat_pet_icon Don't worry Ripley, it will be over soon nailbite_smile
To bad we just can't give them a shot of whiskey or whatever...works for me
Hope the vetty visit goes great Josie ;-)
Have a nice night :-D

Inexpensive hats, you say?
By Jove, that's rather sporting!

Lookin' good, Miss Ripley! I've had that drop of blood on the syringe thing happen a couple times, too. I did monitor Trix a little more closely for those cycles, but all was well.

Sending good vetty vines your way! Have a great evening, Josie!!

Ripley survived the vetty visit this afternoon.

She peed in the carrier while we were waiting to be seen (they were running 30 mins. late :-x ), but by the time she was examined and had blood drawn, there was enough urine in her little bladder for a urinalysis.
She's never been a pee-in-the-carrier kind of kitty; but she did it one other time, during her last vet visit about 3 mos. ago.
I think she sleeps on her rocker all day, then when I get home from work, test her, put her in her carrier, and take her to the vet, she must really have a full bladder by then. Poor girl.

She passed her physical exam with flying colors (she had her head in my armpit the entire time, except when her ears and teeth were examined).

She gained a little weight, is currently at about 12.5lbs. Good weight :-D .

She has major tartar, though ~ she may need a cleaning next vet visit, 3-4 mos. from now nailbite_smile . She's never had any dental work before. The last time she was 'put under' was when she was spayed as a little girl. nailbite_smile I'll worry about this when I need to, much later from now...

I'll get tests results back tomorrow ~ I'll post them in my Labs link below once I get the values entered.

Hi, Pam :-D
To bad we just can't give them a shot of whiskey or whatever...works for me
Haha! Works for me, too! I wish it could be that easy for our kitties ~~ here, THIS will take the edge off...

Hi, Lara :-D OHMYGOODNESS I love that photo. Sooo flippin' cute! I bet Ripley would love a cute l'il hat like that one

Hi, Amy :-D After my initial "gasp! should I panick?" mode passed, I figured the blood drop was no biggie. I'm actually surprised I haven't seen it before ~ you'd think I would've by now ~ it has been 623 shots, after all. (But who's counting  ).

Hi Josie,
I am glad to hear the vetty visit went well!
Fingers and paws crossed for good results!
Her numbers are looking fabulous despite the stress from the vet visit!

Hi Josie! (DH is snoring now   )

What a great hat - how 'bout a cane to go with?
And a VERY GREAT vet visit! (It's ok, Ripley when you pee in the carrier, especially if the vet makes you wait cat_pet_icon )

I understand how you feel, Josie - I'm always scared when Tigger goes in for a dental (he has stomatitis) - but dental infections are scarier. Our vet recommended Maxiguard (Anne did, too) for that & it's helping Tigger, but probably wouldn't replace a cleaning.

Thanks for the Holly tip - do you use RR?

Keeping paws crossed Ripley's results are all excellent - her PMPS sure was - even after all that ostrich-ing!
