Need lots of ~O) ~O) straight Espresso today! Maggie seems to be somewhat okay this morning except just a short while ago, she peed on the carpet area right next to the LL, and she has never done that before! I notice she's been drinking more water, but I thought it was because of the Lactulose. I'm wondering if this is a sign of a UTI! The last UTI I remember her numbers were high and more water intake. She has a senior exam coming up but not until October 22, which I could bump up. This may explain the higher numbers. I increased by a drop. You would think on the third day of a new vial her numbers would either remain the same or improve, unless by coincidence she would have gone high anyway. I really don't think this is the shed still refilling and the other vial lost that much potency. If you look just a few lines above all the yellow rows starting 9/13 and up, you can see on the old vial, Maggie had some nice drops into blue! Once I started the new vial, more yellow! So something is amiss with Missy Maggie.

Sorry I missed some of you last night after I logged off:

Amy, I know our girls seem to be in sync a lot. We're still fighting the New Vial Wonkiness. You've created a new lingo term, was it you?

Anne & Zener, thanks on the cute pic, love it! Maggie likes following Zener around, even if it is the yellow floor. Yes, so far Mags is doing an every other day poo vs. the every five before we knew it was Megacolon.

Deborah & Shasta, thanks for stopping by and wishing us well. Mags's numbers start out nice and then slide back up.

Dale, usually Lactulose does not have such an effect on her bg's. I have a post from JoJo explaining it. It says in part :the "sugar" in lactulose does not enter the cat's blood stream changing BG." There's more if you're interested. t does cause Maggie to drink more water, which is good,
So funny with Emma and the prezzie. I'll pm you on lunch/coffee. I'll be up by Scripps tomorrow, but it will be around 7 am, very early.

Thanks Marje, I hope the drop will push her down to blue and thanks on the prezzie. I'm beginning to think she may have a UTI with lately so much driinking and peeing.

Re: 9/16 Maggie AMPS 264; +3 193

Oh boy. Sounds like a UTI may be what's bothering her. The only time Poopy has ever urinated outside the LB (and right in front of me) is when he's had a UTI. Seems to be his way of saying, "Hey! You! Help me out, would ya?!?!"

Whatever it is with Maggiepoo, sure hope she feels better soon. :YMHUG:

Re: 9/16 Maggie AMPS 264; +3 193

Awww, poor Mags. She definitely could be sending you a message, between the numbers, the peeing, and the water intake. Please feel better, Maggie!!!

Re: 9/16 Maggie AMPS 264; +3 193

Teresa, that's interesting with Poopy and the same thing and it turned out to be a UTI!

Amy, it could explain all the yellows the past dew days. She was even playful this morning with her pole toy but only for a few minutes.

Re: 9/16 Maggie AMPS 264; +3 193

For me, it's worth a vet trip - even with Poopy going ballistic at the vet's office.

The last time he had a UTI (he's only had 3-4 his whole life), he peed outside the box in the morning before work and I thought, "Ok, I'll take you to the vet when I get home from work." By the time I got home, he was laying in a puddle of bloody urine. He almost didn't make it. They kept him for three days hoping his kidneys would resume function. Not good at all. Said if it ever happened again they'd want to do what I call a "penal-ectomy". OUCH!

Not trying to scare you, just so you know if it is a UTI, they can go bad rather quickly.

Re: 9/16 Maggie AMPS 264; +3 193

Oh gosh, how scary for you. Yikes on the "penal-ectomy". I have a 7:40 am medical appt. tomorrow that is hard to change, but I have the rest of the day free, so I'll take her in tomorrow. I can be home by 8:30 am. She has a huge appy lately.

Re: 9/16 Maggie AMPS 264; +3 193

Give Maggie more water today since she's not blocked. If it's an UTI, more water intake will help. Since Maggie is having a good appy & drinking more, it doesnt sounds like she's not comfortable. confused_cat
Her +3 is slowly coming down, hope she can gives us better numbers later today.

Re: 9/16 Maggie AMPS 264; +3 193; +5 220

+5 220

This is food and about the same number! Maggie's eating and also has a treat of bf that I mix in with Miralax.

Thanks Helen, no she doesn't seem too uncomfortable and is drinking water. I add water to her food and treat. She's vocal, affectionate, asking for brushing. I think it's caught early if it is a UTI! She's so tidy and covering and covering her dodo that to pee outside box is a signal. And then the yellow numbers.

Re: 9/16 Maggie AMPS 264; +3 193; +5 220

Yup, I'd take her in too. Sorry abou this, Ann. You must be a bit worried. Poor beautiful Maggie! I'm crossing all fingers and toes for you both.

Lots of hugs and extra vines!
Jane

Awe, sorry to hear that something may be up with sweet Maggie. Taking her to the vet sounds like a good plan. Sending you BIG hugs and healing vines for Maggie as you wait to find out what's going on.

Re: 9/16 Maggie AMPS 264; +3 193; +5 220

Well darn, a vetty visit for Ms Mags. Do you think she knows Zener has a vetty visit Tuesday and wants to follow him to the vetty too? His visit is an anal gland check. Hope all goes well with Maggie tomorrow, and things are sorted out toot-sweet!

Re: 9/16 Maggie AMPS 264; +3 193; +5 220; +9 236

+9 236

I gave Maggie a poke break, as I knew there would be no drama. It's nice to see she didn't go any higher.

Thanks Jane, I'll call in the morning and make an appt. for Mags. This time Maggie made herself loud and clear with missing the box!

Tamara, thanks on Maggie for Vetty visit. She had one UTI when she was first diagnosed, and it was similar with the higher numbers and unusually higher volume of water.

Hi Anne, oh no, you mean Zener has to see Vetty, too. I bet that's why Maggie decided to go, too. She's been following him around. I think she's sweet on him.

Re: 9/16 Maggie AMPS 264; +3 193; +5 220; +9 236

Hi Ann! Poor Mags, I'm glad you're taking her to the vet. Sending tons of good vetty vines for her tomorrow, and I'm sure Muffin would love to join the KTSS when she gets home!

Re: 9/16 Maggie AMPS 264; +3 193; +5 220; +9 236

I'm sorry to hear you're going to have to take Maggie to the vet, but maybe you can get some answers on the high numbers. If it is UTI and you catch it early, it will be easier to treat.

PMPS 234

Maggie delivered a long prezzie mid afternoon, as promised, completing her every other day routine. :-D
She also used the LB this time when had a pee break! She's acting fine, good appy, taking her meds. I've been massaging her tummy and back sometimes when she allows me to stay in bed with her.

Thanks Anne for the Vetty vines. Maggie says she can't wait to see Muffin tomorrow with the KTSS.

Carla, thanks, yes better to be sure and get it treated if it's a UTI. Also senior panel b/w. We're a month early, but that's okay. Things can change so rapidly.

Hi Ann - sorry for the late post, and sorry for Maggie's numbers too. Good deal to take her in to the vet.

YAY for prezzies!!

I hope your day has been a good one.

Awesome LB news going on over here! I'm so glad Mags is feeling well...still a good idea to get things checked out, so many good vetty vines are coming your way!!
