Im wondering about my glucometer now. I got the same exact number at +3 and +6 last night (298)...I though "what are the odds of that??" so I tested again at +6 and I got 281. (I put that # on his SS because I liked it better)

Tested myself 4 times in a row this morning and got 93, 90, 96, and 103 (MY numbers not Crushy's) Is this kind of variation normal?? Is the battery on the glucometer running low maybe?

Its a ReliOn Micro

Crushy seems good this morning so far

Meters are allowed to have a variation of, I believe, 20%. So no worries on the small variations you saw - it's essentially the same number and totally normal.

Those numbers are normal for sure. I have been known to test poor Buster up to three times and then also myself when I get weird numbers. I usually just average them out and record that number on my ss. I have gotten the same reading for neighboring tests on more than one occasion. It does make you blink and think, doesn't it? Hope Crushy comes down from the pink floor for you today.

Michele, I think (Carl?) once said that the NUMBERS are just a quick "snapshot" of that moment and they do vary back and forth a bit - so, as far as YOUR personal numbers, 93/90/96/103 ..... I think they are all regarded as the same as it's only 10 points apart. I don't think it's anything to question your meter about - I'm sure someone will give better info. Also, you can contact the company and request a "controller solution" that helps regulate the meter - I did and they sent it to me free as I don't think you can buy it? SOme meters come with it, others don't.

Thanks, its good to know that some variation is normal....it is a little disconcerting though!

Ill look into getting some controller solution just to be sure
