We're sending lots of healing wishes and hugs to the kitties and beans who need them today.

Clare has been such a trooper in all of this! We're hoping that today will be the day that she'll go into the greens with this dose. If not, then we'll seek advice about raising her back to 0.25+ or 0.5.

Hi Georgette! Paws and fingers crossed here that Clare has a nice slide down today..the dose increase threat usually works for Chi Chi! :-D Have a good and easy day!

Thanks for your encouragement, Marilyn and Laura! Clare certainly seems to be listening. Let's see how far into the greens she can slide. I like that, at least after the initial dive, she's slowing down a bit.

Hi Elise,

It looks like we're back to where we were about 3 weeks ago, except that the 0.25 dose is less effective than it was then. At that time, Clare was having greens in the AMs and bouncing in the PMs. Now, she's just putting her toe in the green water and bouncing afterward.

My guess is that, unless we see an effective cycle tonight, she needs more insulin.

And so my question is, if the Wise Ones agree, what should we do? Go to a "fat" 0.25, or go to 0.5? We will be around to monitor for the foreseeable future.

Sorry no one was around to answer your question earlier Georgette. We've seen it's better to do an increase by a full 0.25U. However, if you do so, it's likely you'll see some action. The last time you went to .5U, the action was in the second cycle. If she does that again, it would make sense to increase at night so that second cycle is during the day. Of course, that'd be the one time she mixes it up. Cats! :lol: I wonder if Clare is one of those kitties that would benefit from a little higher carb food. Still LC, but at the higher end. With a bit more carbs in her, you can increase the insulin and hopefully get more time in upper greens.
