Yesterday at Tricia's House of Chaos

Ahhh, this feels right. Late night condo. Same old, same old.

Thank you so much for all the visits this morning to yesterday's condo with the support and vines and love. It is much appreciated. :bighug:

So I took Cinco to UCD today and we were there a long time. They were, as usual, really busy. The oncologists were meeting about him while we were there. Finally two came in and talked to us. They said we could do radiation or chemo. They said they felt that it was most likely a localized lymphoma, but they can't be certain. It is very similar to the tumor that was removed with his eye. If localized, the radiation is the best treatment. Chemo is better if they suspect it is also elsewhere. After discussing all the options, we decided to go ahead with the radiation. We can do chemo later if there is any sign it is elsewhere(which, at the moment, there are none). He goes in Friday morning for a CT scan - both to make sure there hasn't been a regrowth and to get an exact purchase on where everything is to set up the molds for the radiation. They are going to talk to the IM department about the best way to handle fasting and insulin. I'll be getting an e-mail with specific instructions tomorrow for Friday. I'm very grateful that we are getting moving on this now - that cancer was very fast growing and we need to get it as soon as possible. They share my sense of urgency, which is very comforting.

In discussing Cinco's diabetes and his treatment options, the subject of our meeting with Dr. Nelson came up. I told them how excited I was to be able to get Cinco in to see him. They agreed it was a coup. I mentioned that I was starstruck because he was such an authority on FD, and that I had tremendous respect for him. One of the oncologists said they'd read about it in Cinco's records, how Dr. Nelson said I was doing a great job and to keep doing what I was doing. She said apparently he had great respect for me, too! Talk about making my day!:) Score one for FDMB.

I got a call from the Dentistry department this morning about Sasha. The first available appointment they have for her is in two weeks - Sept. 30. They'll keep her overnight and do the xrays and biopsies the next morning. They have her on the waiting list in case another appointment opens up before that. Her appy was pretty good today.

Minka started out the day with no appy - I had to syringe some z/d to give her the meds. She looked uncomfortable so I gave her Bupe. This evening she ate all her dinner. I guess the flare is passing (anti-jinx).

Harvey is still a world class hoover.

Tomorrow I'm taking a day for myself. Getting rid of all the gray hair my dear cats have caused me, then I'm meeting up with @Josie & Ripley (GA) for coffee or soda or something! How cool is that? So Cinco, you need to surf blue nice and smoothly. I really need this day off.

Sending healing vines to all in need and hugs to all their beans, especially Marilyn & Polly, Deborah & Shasta, Carla & her civvie Baby, Wendy & civvie Theo, and Marje & Gracie. :bighug: Prayers continue for Amy's DF, Lyresa's DF and DH, Marje's DM, Chris' DM, Molly's DM, and Elise's DM.

Good to see your condo show up. I've been waiting since I saw you posting. :)

Cinco's treatment sounds a lot like SRT except extended over time. Neko had one day of CT scan and planning, followed by 3 days of radiation. The "old" way of treating acrocats sounds similar to what you'll be doing. Many paws crossed this was just a one of localized lymphoma. Good to hear you are getting that first treatment ASAP.

Enjoy your day with Josie tomorrow - how cool is that to meet her!

I think we all have admiration for you too. I sure do! I sure hope it's localized. I'm glad Cinco handles it all so well. The sooner the better sounds good for Sasha as well.

Enjoy your day tomorrow.

It's so great that they're going to get Cinco in and get started....the sooner they start, the sooner he can get that clean bill of health we're all praying for!!

Hope they get a cancellation so they can get Sasha in sooner too

If anybody deserves a day off, it's you Tricia, so enjoy your day tomorrow, and I'll tell China to be good and not be a bad influence on Cinco...well, I can try anyway!!

Hopefully Cinco's deep sea diving this morning satisfied his desire for the deep water for a few days and he surfs along for you beautifully tomorrow. The kitties might not recognise you when you get home all relaxed and with new hairs ;)

The treatment plan for Cinco sounds like it's coming together well. We will be cheering him on every step of the way.

Glad to hear everyone has ended up eating ok today.
Minka maybe you could try breakfast tomorrow too and help to make the beans day off extra special :cat:

I hope it's just localized and the radiation is all that Cinco needs. It's good they agree he needs to get started as soon as possible. I hope they get a cancellation and get Sasha in sooner. Sending appy vines for Minka. I hope Cinco surfs safely for you today. Enjoy meeting Josie. I remember sweet Ripley and her cute hats. How cool.

Overall a good report for Cinco during tough circumstances. I remember way back when my first kitty had lymphoma (13 years ago)...2 things: His was localized to his hind leg (another odd case) and after several rounds of chemo doing nothing, we did radiation and that put him in remission. And, there was a kitty in the lymphoma yahoo group who had nasal lymphoma. He was also treated with radiation and in remission. So I feel confident that with all the strides made in treatment AND the powerful bean-team and med-team, Cinco will do fabulously with radiation!

I hope Sasha can get in sooner, and sending appy vines all around! Have fun with Josie!!

Considering that we can't walk backwards and change what is, the news with Cinco is encouraging. Localized. Vines. Fast-starting treatment. And a top-tier medical team. Plus that bean. That amazing bean. And then there's us! We got your back Tricia.

Wish things could get started for Shasha a little sooner. But a plan of action and another top-tier team. Vines that those components solve the riddle of the tooth.

Now, everyone. Be good. MamaBean is taking a much needed and even more deserved day of MamaBean time. Don't mess that up.

Thanks, Tricia, for all your thoughts and encouragement with my Polly. Whenever I feel overwhelmed, I just think of you and your kits and realized Polly and I have a walk in the park. Sort of!

Tricia :bighug::bighug: You are truly amazing! Enjoy your day with Josie. You so deserve it!
Wishing all the best for Cinco and Sasha.
Appy vines for Minka.
Michael sends lots of Meows and Purrs.:cat:

You have the patience of a saint! I'm glad to hear they think it's mostly localized. Fingers and kitty toes crossed for you and all your furbabies! Enjoy your day off tomorrow :)

Fight that nasty cancer Cinco - with all of us behind you, you can't lose!!

Hope Sasha's teeth issue gets resolved quickly and Minka renews her lapsed membership in the CPC!

Enjoy your day off tomorrow!

Sounds like you have a good plan of action. I'm guessing that you are somewhat of a celebrity there! Every one must inow you by now and what a great job you are doing for all your cats!
